  Can most Witnesses distinguish between God and the WT Organization?

  yesterday, in one of those conversations i try to have, i talked to an older sister.

  she was waiting outside the hall for her ride, so i sat down and talked to her, just about like old times as a witness, theocratic history.

  she has been baptized 38 years.. anyway, i was saying about why did some leave in 1975. she replied, "well, they got impatient with jehovah, and they took it out on him by leaving.".

  i am still active to try and help family and friends, so that's why i say we.

  i know i have brought this up before, but i cannot get over the fact that every service group i go in, and every dinner after the meeting, or coffee or whatever, no one seems to be reading the magazines.

  no one understands the doctrines of the generation, 1919, not even blood.. when i bring up one of those subjects, one in the group will repeat the phrase we learned at the meetings, such as "blood fractions is not really blood" or "i think the generation refers more to the anointed or something like that.

  the majority who come out of the jws, have been given this title because of leaving them.. but is the "word" as bad as it seems, the wikipedia definition is as follows.

  apostasy - is the formal religious disaffiliation or abandonment or renunciation of one's religion.

  the word apostasy can sound very harsh, cruel, vindictive and definitely judgmental, causing some families great hardship because of this.

  The word apostasy can sound very harsh, cruel, vindictive and definitely judgmental, causing some families great hardship because of this.

  My wife who was a catholic before joining the JWs must according to this definition have been apostate because of her abandoning the Catholics. Yet still she was accepted with open arms into the JWs

  Therefore why, with some mainstream religions can you NOT be accused, yet the JWs can use this phrase directed at the person (this made publicly), as if you had abandoned GOD, rather than abandoned their assumptions.

  once again our lurking jw friend sent us a copy of the june 15th " witness only " watchtower.

  all i can say is that the wt society sure knows how to compartmentalize and pick and choose how they view truth and honesty.

  i'll share some of these " golden nuggets " and see what you think.

  You can fool some of the people all of the time,

  You can fool all of the people some of the time,

  But you can’t fool all the people all of the time.

  That is where the majority of us come in, yes we were fooled for a time by many lies, because of a spiritual need on our part, but anyone with ½ an ounce of principle will in the end see through the propaganda and lies that they have said over the years.

  one of my wife and my lurking jw friends sent us this article which has some very pointed words in it inciting all jehovah's witnesses to take an even harder line view of apostates in this recent april 15th wt.. on pg.

  let me first say that i believe in god, in jesus and the holy spirit.

  therefore to hear the watchtower liken us who have been df, ( in our case asking questions about u.n. paedophiles 607 etc ) liken us to the first apostate the devil i find them judgmental in the extreme, not surprised but very offensive.. thanks to "flipper" with his thread i have decided to ban my brother in law from coming to my home, this year he intends to come over from spain where the need is great, ............the wine.and the beaches very nice too.. he is going to visit his mother who now because of dementia lives with us.. he will not be allowed on my premises at all, he will pick mum up at the front gate.. as a witness you must accept what the so called boffins tell you.. therefore if he can align himself with thinking that way, of his sister and myself then he is not welcome.. i will only accept him in my home when he gets out of her (babylon the great).

  Hi Gang,

  I respect ALL of your comments, obviously you don’t know all the story but I am grateful for your wise words.

  I must say I am impressed with the way you can turn the other cheek, something I am not too good at doing when confronted with JW thinking (unless an apology arrives of course).

  Live and let live seams the way !

  But by our constant care for mum I think we are helpng to prolong her life.

  We know left on her own, after her husband died, she defiantly would have died also.

  This goes against the JW’s thinking …….They want her to die BEFORE Armageddon, so that she can have a resurrection.

  She has a faith (Catholic) at 93 not going to change, plus her abhorrence of JW's

  the recent internet phenomenon seems to be that 1. some news story breaks, and then 2. people start talking about it and twittering and forwarding emails about it.

  and then it multiplies and multiplies until finally, 3. the whole world is talking about it.

  the same with the madoff scheme.
