  paragraphs 4 - 8 form a sub-topic entitled "jehovah is generous.".

  Take a look at the interlinear to see how that ought to be translated - the surrounding verses have it correct numerous times.

  The word should be 'believes'.

  i usually dismiss the "drinking the kool aid" scenarios that are posted from time to time, but the latest wt has another bit of fearmongering.

  the quote from page 20, para 17. elders who are reading this article can draw some useful conclusions from the account we have just considered: (1) the most practical step that we can take to prepare for the coming attack of the assyrian is that of strengthening our faith in god and helping our brothers to do the same.

  (2) when the assyrian attacks, the elders must be absolutely convinced that jehovah will deliver us.

  Please help. I am losing the plot.

  after being a witness for 40 years, i now find myself disfellowshipped.. i have had a number of doubts for a few years now, but still feel as if i'm living my life in the "t minus " to armageddon spector.. my parents are in their 80's and my dear mother is in very bad health.

  i was allowed to pop through - about once a month to make sure my parents were ok and for them to see their grandchildren.

  this all ended after the july watchtower article and especially since the district convention - with all the "counsel" on associating with disfellowshipped family members.. around 6 weeks ago, my dad asked me point blank why i wasn't trying to get reinstated.

  Sounds like your dad is harbouring rebellious independent thoughts. Does he not respect the organisational arrangement fir elders? I smell apostacy.

  Lets call it what it is - your dad is indoctrinated and brainwashed. He lives in fear. You cannot reason with a mind which no longer thinks.

  i was telling my jw friend about the condi law suit.

  the first thing she asked was how did i even hear about it because it was news to her .

  ( i was 't expecting that reaction.

  i was sitting at meeting the other night and happen to notice an elder with a sheet of paper with the title of the above post.

  it appears to have been composed on a computer, not a form printed by the org.

  on it were all the names of the people in this particular elders group and there were columns for the days of the week when we have our meetings.

  Next time it's out in the open, use your phone and take a photo of it. Tell the elder and the COBE that this violates the data protection act and you will email it to the CO for his opinion.

  Ask what he expects the congregation will say when you show them their 'records'.

  Go to the elders to explain you need to see your mum.

  If they will not help then tell them you will go to the local press and you will call Bethel to warn them what you intend to do.

  Your request as a caring child is reasonable and falls into the Necessary Business category.

  You need to get tough on this and their pressure point is bad publicity. Push on it.

  Need Help - Looks like some one in my family got to know that we are fading...

  letter from a close family member... need help responding.... what a powerful illustration of the affect that our choice of friends can have on us, especially if we leave jehovah after being 'raised' by him from infancy!.

  pack of wolvesthere was a farmer who raised sheep and had trouble with wolves stealing his sheep.

  he loved his sheep and didn't want to lose even one of them.

  Presumably, had a little lamb escaped, got a dirty and matted coat then returned, the callous farmer would have turned his back on this one as well.

  I think it's the blind farmer who needs to be replaced with one who has compassion and discernment.

  For Jehovah to act they must first have FAITH, not doubting at all.

  Why go to the world when all things belong to Jehovah?

  Your brother should step up. He is in a position to help, even if it means some refinancing.
