  just read a post on jwsurvey about the new donation arrangement.

  congregations are to pledge a monthly amount to be sent to the society to fund the building of assembly halls and kingdom halls.

  congregations who already have a loan from the society will no longer have to pay back the loan but the amount pledged should not be less than the current monthly repayments to the society.

  The WT and it's views on depression.

  as a few of you may remember, i suffer from bipolar.. when working at the uk home office, i was signed off by my doctor with depression and anxiety.. in the space of 11 months i was assessed by 2 home office doctors, both diagnosing me as unfit for work.

  i eventually left.. how therefore, can stupid little people in the kh say you'll be better doing fs, ministry school and being regular at meetings??.

  they have to be the most un-empathetic bunch of people on the planet.

  Suffering with grief? Depression? Illness? Old age? Unemployment? Abuse at home? Family problems?

  The WT has a single solution to every problem: Do More!

  And if you aren't suffering at all then you should also Do More!

  kingdom hall insurance....??

  i seem to recall that there was an assistance fund set up for insurance on kingdom halls that were essentially set up as insurance.. where you were not to insure the khs by normal insurance companies.does anyone know about this and does any kh claim againt the fund i.e.

  the watchtower?.

  sounds like a scam!.

  The personal injury payout limits are derisory.

  It's something like £2000 if you lose an arm or leg.

  If it happened to me I'd have to sue to get the rest of the compensation I was due - It might mean I could never work again so I'd need enuogh to live on for the rest of my life.

  for those not knowing, atf was a 2005 gilead graduate, bethelite, missionary.

  What's to disbelieve?

  One of the wackiest statements made in that post was about Elijah and Elisha foreshadowing Rutherford and Knorr.
  But you don't need to search far to see that it's a teaching of the WT:

  "Just as the work of Elijah the prophet came to its close and was succeeded by the zealous activity of Elisha his successor, so also, following a period of witnessing comparable to that of Elijah, a new push seemed to be given to the activities of the brothers here in Brazil. Though the death of Brother Rutherford, the second president of the Society, came as a shock to the brothers, their heavy hearts were lightened when they learned that Nathan H. Knorr had been appointed as the new president of the Society."

  Or maybe you disagree with his comments on being mature / immature?
  Again, going to a kingdom hall will provide you with the evidence for this also.

  Nauseating JW.org section for small children - CUTOUTS? Really?

  i am not hot linking to jw borg, but they have a whole section for obviously very small children (become j's friend, with a whole array of caleb-related stuff).

  i have actually never visited the site, today was the first time, because i wanted to check a technical information about their websites architecture and came across this sh*t!.

  the way they are targeting small kids is nauseating me (i have a 5 year old, still in with her mother).

  i have been dropping comments to a few re some classic old beliefs and teachings etc... and when asked "where did you read that, or how come you are saying such and such?

  " i have replied "well, you remember we have often been told to study and research our old 'theocratic history' and 'old gems' of material?....

  now though i have been challenged to prove where this has been printed!.

  You might also ask "at what point should I no longer believe the publications? - At what age do they become unmentionable?"
  Depending on how they answer you can add "So when will today's WT instructions become old light that we are to dismiss?"
