  the disconnect from the family of humanity......the snap of that fellow feeling......the cold indifferent shrug as each person dries up and hardens into a mere thing in a kingdom hall.....is a withering away of all that is noble, pure and innocent.. and when that icy moment sets in the rest of the world vanishes into an invisible nothing in the heart of that strutting and proud lump of human flesh called jehovah's witness.. it is the first of many deaths they will endure.... where does it begin and where does it end?.

  Glaring discrepency in Blood Doctrine

  i found an article on the dr. sears website about the benefits of breasfeeding.

  according to the article it says: "a drop of breastmilk contains about one million white blood cells.

  " it also says "colostrum also contains higher amounts of white blood cells..........than mature milk.

  Whether the white cells die once consumed is immaterial, the 'eating of white cells' has been done by that time. This is an instant df'ing offence in any other context.

  The benefit of mothers milk is specifically because of the colostrum - the part of milk which is rich in white cells and gives baby early protection.

  It makes the blood policy indefensible.

  yes it happen again with our youngest son.

  this last monday we got a letter from him telling us how unloving we are because we are no longer jw.

  cult and not had kids.

  I wonder if they wrote to you because they are struggling with the situation.
  They are obviously angry and you are the logicial target.

  I would write back and say "Even if I'm 100% provably correct, you will refuse to believe me because you have been trained to only believe the WT, even if they make no sense and can proven to be incorrect", then list the reasons why you have left.

  For me it was the flip-flops. There is nothing solid to base your faith on because it can change at any time and you have to accept it.
  100 year old teachings, preached as 'truth' from door to door, dismissed in a single paragraph. The WT today is not what I got baptised into - it's teachings are completely different.

  But don't be angry back.
  Don't list 1000 things, just some that you know will have an impact. You can say "there are a hundred more reasons, which if presented in a court of law would be conclusive evidence of their lieing", or something.

  You know how best to respond - be smart about it, you might not get another chance.

  Quickfire Questions to ask JW's at your door?

  occassionally (very) i have met jw's that don't know me and i would like to ask them something to make them think.. any suggestions for quick, simple, thought provoking questions to ask jw's that you may meet?.

  i seem to remember 'v' did a youtube question along the lines of,.

  ''how can you belong to a religion that allows blood fractions to be transfused?''.

  Ask them if they have the truth. Then ask them how many times their doctrines (truths) have changed. Ask them again if they now have the truth.

  If they say they do have the truth, ask them what they will do when the next change is made.

  Point out that they will therefore believe anything they are told, which is no different to any other religion, and you're not that mindless or gullible to base your life's beliefs on ever shifting sands, thank you.

  recently someone asked me to define what core teachings have such a hold on jdubs that they have trouble breaking free.

  trying to single out the driving force that keeps them in the borg, this is what popped into my head:.

  obviously there are lots and lots of wacky things the jdubs teach/believe/pretend to believe.

  Since the FDS arrived we've not had anything remain consistent. The non-FDS Russell has a better track record.

  Any elders out there? How to Local needs talks work?

  so a local needs talk was lovingly given at our hall last week that i'm positive targeted me specifically.

  it had to do with missing meetings for work.

  they even had a demo on what we should do if our boss asks us to stay overtime on a meeting night (basically say "no" and risk losing your great job which you have no desire whatsoever to lose)... so i'm aware that there's a sort of protocol the elders follow when someone in the hall needs to work on something.

  Everyone sits in a stupor, engaging their automatic clapping and smiling. Nothing goes in because there's nothing to go in.
