Do the poles constitute part of the roadsigns?
I had to log in just to ask this.
sir simon,.
how many dozen bloody times do i have to do the capcha thing before i get in.
one round of street signs or cars and that was it.
Do the poles constitute part of the roadsigns?
I had to log in just to ask this.
after reading and seeing so many detailings of the dealings with people in this religion, i have to wonder how to get people who are just extremely asleep.
reasoning doesn't seem like it works, there needs to be some kind of plug pull event, like the leaders doing something so uterly stupid that it causes the immediate downfall of the entire religion.
but because i am naturally curious i want to know from people who have more experience with jw structure why they seem to have a resistance to an event like this?
When you are emotionally invested in something, facts and logic count for very little.
Waking up is less about finding the truth about the WT, but more about dropping the emotional barriers in order to accept the truth about the WT.

Thanks MMM, I still have the comparison work from your original project - brilliant problem solving!
I've found all the differences in the above list. Most are single character changes or insertions, with just a few textual changes.
Oil trees become pine trees and a couple of other minor changes which do not appear to have a fundamental thought change.
For your info, a font change wouldn't trigger a hit in your algorithm because a font is merely a collection of glyphs which overlay the underlying unicode values.
what's the official teaching on celebrating this jewish festival?.
So the Awake! from 27 years ago is the last reference to Hanukkah and merely says "there is no reason for Christians to commemorate Hanukkah".
Their reasoning is that the old Law no longer applies. Maybe they should remember that when they start using the Hebrew scriptures to create their own catalogue of laws. Anyway...
There's no reason to have fish on a Friday, but it's not wrong to.
There's no reason to do lots of things, but if you do do them they're not necessarily wrong.
That WT article also quotes Paul as saying "let no man judge you in eating and drinking or in respect of a festival ", which is precisely what WT try to do.
The bottom line is that WT would like to stop you from celebrating Hanukkah, and tries to word things in such a way as to make you think you shouldn't, but they are once again over stepping their authority and making rules they cannot justify.
My recommendation is that if you see a JW on the street, at a cart or at your door, wish them Happy Hanukkah and see how they squirm!

What's the official teaching on celebrating this Jewish festival?
i have thought long and hard about this, you know in those midnight hours.. you will probably string me alive in what i say, but here you go-.
i feel that the jw's do have the truth.
i do agree with the doctrines and biblical exgenesis they propound.i do feel that they have the 'truth' i do understand they are imperfect, and i think they have had to 'refine' their teachings as time has gone on-and change accordingly- i see nothing wrong with this.
ScottyRex I feel that the JW's do have the truth. I really do.
Hi Scotty, instead of feeling, why not look at the facts?
WT have been wrong so many times they have worse predictions than a fair ground fortune teller.
And what about this New Light? Is it really new light from God when they change a teaching, then change it back again? You say it's the truth, but don't you realise that it has changed countless times and will continue to change? What you call "The Truth" today is not the same as the truth yesterday and not the same as the truth tomorrow. It ping pongs back and forth more than a Chinese table tennis competition. How can you trust life decisions to something so wishy washy?
Don't believe it's as bad as I say, read this.
just wondering.
when i was a witness, we had presiding overseer, and would say p-o for short.
do they spell it out when they say cobe or do they say it with as a word?
Thanks CoCo!!
i've been lurking here for a couple of weeks now.
i'm starting to "awaken" and it is all that has been occupying my mind.
i've always, always had doubts, some of which i expressed to family members who always had the same replies:.
Welcome!
I know just how you feel because I was there myself a while back. It's like you can't believe what you hear is really true and everything that you've been told in the past is thrown into doubt. It really consumes you to think that maybe it isn't the truth after all. It has to be, right?
Well just keep researching. Be true to yourself. Don't be afraid to let yourself ask questions and find out for yourself. Recognise when you have factual information and when you are being fobbed off.
You may know some good things about your religion, but there are good things Catholics point to about theirs too. And every other religion. Do those things make your religion true? What about the false teachings in your religion? What about the mental anxiety your religion causes you, probably without you even recognising it? (e.g. if you don't go out on service, have low hours for the month, miss a meeting, don't pre-study your watchtower, having a talk on the school, an elder asks to give you a shepherding visit...)?
Just do your research and relax. Vent on here, we won't add to your fear or anxiety.
it would be appropriate to talk very frankly to a former child abuser, strongly cautioning.
him as to the dangers of hugging or holding children on his lap and that he should never be in the.
presence of a child without another adult being present.
It would be appropriate to talk very frankly to a former child abuser, strongly cautioning
him as to the dangers of hugging or holding children on his lap and that he should never be in the
presence of a child without another adult being present. This may prevent putting that one in the
way of temptation or unfounded accusation. At the same time, it is good to remember that the
Bible, at Matthew 12:31 and I Corinthians 6:9-11, shows it is possible for a person to stop his or
her wrongful course, repent, and thereafter live in harmony with God's righteous standards. This
is true of all wrongdoers-even a former child abuser.
While it is unscriptural to say that a former child abuser could never enjoy exemplary
privileges of service in the congregation, certainly the elders will want to be very cautious, especially
when one had repeatedly engaged in this kind of wrongdoing or had been disfellowshipped
for such an offense.
what do you think there hiding?.
Fisherman if wt wanted to protect a perpetrator, why record the incident?
It's an unintended consequence of their completely controlling nature.
Of course they never anticipated having to share this information, but they count hours, lands, magazines printed, magazines placed, assembly attendances, ... it never ends. If WT can count something they will, even child abusers and their victims.
The faithful slave has proven to be less than discreet.
