Atlantis An Elder and I received a BOE 3 days ago and the BOE was dated from 2017. A full year ago and we already have the BOE in collection.
Maybe you could get someone skilled like MeanMrMustard to compare the 2017 and 2018 PDFs at a binary or hex level to see if there are differences (e.g. scanning codes).
It would be good to know for certain if WT are trying to close down leakers this way.
Edit: fixed MMM's name
i have just received an email from an elder's wife regarding the new data protection laws.
between the lines it sounds like she has been asked to contact me.. she says they 'don't want to leave me out' so they want me to fill out the form as 'i'm still part of the congregation'.
also, my blood card needs updating, apparently.. the elder in charge will be in contact.. obviously, i'm not doing either, but what do i do?
If they press you into responding ask:
"Can I fulfill all of my scriptural obligations without signing the form? If not, which scriptural obligations are affected, and why?"
"In the instructions you received for getting people to sign this form, does it say that you must not pressure people to sign it? That being so, if I refuse to sign it, should that be the end of the matter?"
"If you wish to speak to me about my refusal to sign the form, would you object if I recorded the discussion?"

So what does it mean when the GB don't have a unanimous decision on something, as they have previously stated in the WT?
I guess they just refer to the higher authority - TM3.
i am interested in the approach this forum takes to money.
apart from sex, (which i am quite relaxed about) it seems to me that wealth is the surest divider between those who are moral, and those who are not.. it seems jesus thought so, also.
luke 16:19-31 kjv describes well enough his dusty attitude to the rich who do not succour the poor.. and this world has many poor: so many, it might seem that we can do nothing about it, and twist his words; 'the poor ye shall have always with you, but me, ye shall not have always.
2RM It's quite simple, really. The rich man has more than he needs, and the starving have less than they need. Morality, in this scenario, is simply a matter of ensuring both have adequate for their needs.
It's not just simple, it's simplistic.
The poor man would be better served by education, a great business case, hard work and a loan, not a handout.
Why do you think multi billionaire philanthropists refuse to simply give their wealth away? It's because they know that simplistic ideas like yours don't work.
Your. Idea. Doesn't. Work.
It doesn't matter how long you bang on about it, how elaborately you state it or how many people you insult who point out your lack of logic and comprehension, it won't make an unworkable idea workable.
You keep telling people to reread the thread, so my advice to you is the same. Reread the thread. Open your ears. Think. Up your game. Learn. Your proposition is kindergarten level economics.
talking about tomorrow's wt study, that mentions over a quarter of a million baptized every year, a jw asked how many that is a day.
i got out my calculator and answered over 778 a day.
of course they were amazed at the growth, but immediatly i googled another statistic and read it aloud:.
Roughly 280,000 baptised.
Minus 1% of the 8 million jw's who die every year (80,000)
Minus another 1% (80,000) disfellowshipped each year
Gives an increase of 120,000, approximately 1.5% per year, and does not include faders.
This is not dissimilar to the world population growth rate of 1.1%, certainly nothing to brag about or stake a claim that the growth is God's doing.

It is the height of naivity to think that giving money to the poor will solve poverty.
not sure where i picked this up:.
self explanatory science and medical advice from the faithful and brilliant servant class in brooklyn________________________________________thomas edison, the inventor and electrician, of phonograph and telephone fame, has been experimenting with the new light "x-rays.
" and has succeeded in taking a photograph through oak eight inches thick.
nowwhat? My head is spinning!
Maybe you need to take a sunbath for the ultra violet rays, or an air bath - bobbing up and down naked.
Whatever you do don't take an aspirin, it causes heart disease!
What a turn of events!
It was only a few years ago that the elders read out a letter from the GB asking for monthly money pledges because "we need 10,000 new halls", or something similar.
That couldn't possibly have been a lie could it?

2RM all your wealth, however derived, is down to God's providence
Then you should be telling God that there are poor, suffering, impoverished people on this planet of His, instead of trying to save the world yourself.
If God's providence determines someone's wealth, have you considered that you may be resisting God's plan by trying to spread the wealth? What makes you think you are wiser than God?
