New contribution box at the hall ?

do you think in view that they now have wt production videos.. (a costly endevour) that they might in addition to the www, local and literature donation boxes start a wt video productions box with special guilt laid on parents with small children to donate ?.

it does seem to be all about the money so it wouldn't suprise me...how about you.

There are three boxes which are correctly called:

- Contributions for Kingdom Hall (local costs)

- Contributions for the WWW (Literature. You pay here when you pick up literature and also any contributions from in the ministry)

- Contributions for Kingdom Hall Construction Worldwide (used to be called Society Kingdom Hall Fund)

This last one is the ever growing fund which is used to provide loans, those loans then repaid, so it is never 'spent', only ever grows.

Contributions slowed after the Book Study was cancelled - that was another opportunity to donate but it's now been rolled into the midweek meeting.

Dont forget the last box at the hall: REPORTS!

as a witness, i knew several men who attempted to grow beards.

when they did, and attended meetings, it did not take long to be talked to by elders and told, "as spiritual men, they should not display an outward form of rebellion.

" why was this a form of rebellion?

i wanted to consolidate a lot of the information about the attack of anonymous against the watchtower society.

if you disagree with the tactics of anonymous, that's fine.

this information may still be useful as the public is made more aware of the the dangerous policies of the watchtower society.

For years I have heard people bragging on here "oh yeah, give me the chance to bring wtbts down..." and now as soon as SOMEONE ELSE gets stuck into them, everyone wants to run to the hills and hide??

i have been out 3 years.

i was baptized, never df'd.

ignored the 2 or 3 phone calls from the elders, and then they left me alone.

(Revelation 14:8) And another, a second angel, followed, saying: “She has fallen! Babylon the Great has fallen"

Even as a pre-teen I read and repeated this, but I looked around and saw that 'Babylon' had not fallen, she was still here.

So on one side I was being told she had fallen in 1919, but with my eyes and ears I saw this was not true.

I held that contradiction with me for decades before other anomalies and changes convinced me it was simply wishful thinking being forced as a substitute for truth.

What was that medical quote they did quite recently, which turned out to be a reference to a medical book from 100 years ago! (of course the fact it was 100 year old information was not mentioned).

Like there's been nothing since then which can back up their stance, just some ill informed, century year old reference.

Maybe they should use medical advice from that book when they next need medical attention for themselves!

I found from there the Public Trustee Act 1906 which says in part:

Where the public trustee is appointed to be custodian trustee of any trust -

(a) The trust property shall be transferred to the custodian trustee as if he were sole trustee, and for that purpose vesting orders may, where necessary, be made under the Trustee Act 1893

(b) The management of the trust property and the exercise of any power or discretion exerciseable by the trustees under the trust shall remain vested in the trustees other than the custodian trustee (which trustees are herein-after referred to as the managing trustees):

(c) As between the custodian trustee and the managing trustees, and subject and without prejudice to the rights of any other persons, the custodian trustee shall have the custody of all securities and documents of title relating to the trust property, but the managing trustee shall have free access thereto and be entitled to take copies thereof or extracts therefrom.

Is this the fabled mechanism for IBSA to take ownership of the KHalls land and buildings, or is it much simpler in that they are merely having the title deeds lodged with them for safe keeping?

The other perplexing thing is the yearly accounts for this fund: Income £1, outgoings £16??

Congregation Funds

i don't claim to understand anything about finance.

but,i remember about three years ago , the congregation was asked to allow the society to hold onto the savings,cd,etc,until the congregation needed it.

i forget the reasoning they gave on the matter,maybe the society would collect interests on it.

Since the jw.org site added congregational transactions as one of it's sections, adding and removing funds lodged with the soc is quite a simple thing.

It's a bit like online banking.

You will also see in the near future a new feature once per month at the start of the service meeting. The accounts report which was stopped from being read out to the cong a few years ago will now be added back into the program. This report includes mention of all Funds On Deposit (as it is properly known), so the cong will no longer 'forget' how much is loaned to the Soc.
