"no one should be forced to worship in a way that he finds unacceptable or be made to choose between his beliefs and his family.".

ironically, the religion and publisher of this statement is one of the biggest offenders with their shunning policy of its members who come to the conclusion that their form of worship is unacceptable.. for some, this severe shunning is too much to bear.. ...help me through this my old friends...i really did not want to be dfd!...i am fourth generation....i had already been shunned by my lifelong friends due to my outspoken words regarding my discovering we had changed the bible to make it say what jw's want it to...but now i have lost my family....oomps.

I've never commented on any of the oompa threads because I didn't really know him and I didn't want to be a "me too" kind of sycophant.

But you know, I just have to.

I read his agony and I feel crushed for him.

I look at his picture and the hairs on my arms bristle up in emotion.

How can a person, with dreams and needs and friends and life, how can they be driven to...

I don't know. It's inhumane. It's just not right.

In view of the New Light, do we now have to reassess Rev 11:12?

Does this mean the understanding of "Come on up here" at Rev 11:12 is now under review, since it has been linked to the events of 1919 which are now said to be future?:

"Babylonish Christendom’s temporary success in 1918 was sharply reversed in 1919 when the remnant of anointed ones, the John class, was restored by a spiritual resurrection. Babylon the Great had fallen as far as having any captive hold on God’s people was concerned. Like locusts, Christ’s anointed brothers swarmed out of the abyss, ready for action. (Revelation 9:1-3; 11:11, 12) They were the modern “faithful and discreet slave,” and the Master appointed them over all his belongings on earth. (Matthew 24:45-47)"

was there a slave class between the 1st century and the 20th century?.

in w march 1, 2004, it was stated, that the slave could not be a single man, because "acording to jesus words" the slave had started his work in 1st century and would still be in action in 20th century.. was the slave in action in 1914?

According to the above notes from the meeting, it seems there would be a dilemma, the FAITHFUL AND DISCREET SLAVE will be appointed over all his belongings in heaven and on earth ... which to me would mean, the reward goes to ALL 144,000 because the few in the Governing Body were found to be faithful and discreet upon the master's return

Although this is not really what they are saying, if I understand them correctly.

The F&DS will be appointed over all Christs belongings, but the F&DS are NOT the 144,000, the F&DS are only those teachers in Brooklyn - the GB.

This being the case, how could appointing the F&DS over the belongings also mean including the rest of the 144,000? Doesn't seem to fit.

this is the summary of the rumored new light from the 2012 annual meeting, as posted by cedars.. the faithful and discreet slave was not appointed at pentecost 33ce, meaning that there has not been a continuous line of members of the slave class on the earth down through the ages.

the slave class was only appointed for the first time by christ in 1919.the faithful and discreet slave is a small group of anointed brothers during jesus presence serving at watchtower headquarters who are directly involved in the preparing and dispensing of spiritual food.

the individual members of the governing body are not the faithful and discreet slave.

(Matthew 24:46, 47) "Happy is that slave if his master on arriving finds him doing so. Truly I say to YOU, He will appoint him over all his belongings."

Does this now mean that only the GB (newly identified F&DS) will be 'Happy' when the 'Master arrives', and only they will be 'appointed over all his belongings'?

What about the rest of the anointed, what do they get now, according to this teaching?

The above WT says Jesus is only the mediator for the F&DS. (Edit: I see someone already mentioned this above)

1. Who then is her mediator? The GB?

2. How does the WT reconcile that with the Bible teaching at 1 Tim 2:

(1 Timothy2:1-7) . . .I therefore exhort, first of all, that supplications, prayers, intercessions, offerings of thanks, be made concerning all sorts of men , 2 concerning kings and all those who are in high station; in order that we may go on leading a calm and quiet life with full godly devotion and seriousness. 3 This is fine and acceptable in the sight of our Savior, God, 4 whose will is that all sorts of men should be saved and come to an accurate knowledge of truth. 5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, a man, Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself a corresponding ransom for all—[this is] what is to be witnessed to at its own particular times. 7 For the purpose of this witness I was appointed a preacher and an apostle—I am telling the truth, I am not lying—a teacher of nations in the matter of faith and truth.

I have that many flip-flops I could open a shop!

Ask her "If new light makes things clearer, why do some teachings go back to a previously disproved 'new light'? "

Is the light really getting brighter in such instances, or is it just just moving around?

Where does this 'new light' come from in the instances it turns out to be wrong after all?

Does Jehovah mislead his people by changing his mind, then changing it back again, and anyone who doesn't blindly accept each new version could be df'd? (And if they are df'd and the teaching goes back to what it was previously, the df'd person has to stay df'd even though they were actually correct?)

How do we know that what we are taught is 'Truth' today, will still be truth tomorrow?
