help! need some articles

i am looking for wt articles that would be on the wt cd, that talk about other religions using "new light" and its in invalid excuse, i have two the feb 2013 wt about the mormon and the 70s awake on catholics and eating meat on fridays, is there any more??

and i also need the wt that says something along the lines of: the only way to come to a correct understanding is to view evidence on both sides of an issue.

Before I bought a scanner I used to take a photo with my digital camera or phone, and upload those onto my PC.

You can get very good results that way as well.

You probably thought about this already, but just a little tip in case you hadn't.

predicted the watctower falsely predicted before 1914 that,"millions now living will never die" before 1914. its now a year before we hit 100 years mark.

was god's or god's holy spirit guiding them when they falsely predicted that prophesy?

what is your reaction or perspective on this big lie?.

It was a 7 year preaching campaign that stretched into the 1920's.

I dont have the info in front of me but i think it started in 1916.

@Phizzy No "non anointed" existed within the christian groups, all were born again if Chrisitians.

So who was Paul referring to when he wrote his letter to the "holy ones, together with all who everywhere are calling upon the name of our Lord" in the Corinthian congregation?

Or "to all the holy ones in union with Christ Jesus who are in Phi·lip′pi, along with overseers and ministerial servants"?

What about the 100,000's of thousands of Christians who gave their lives in the arenas and persecutions of the first century - certainly more than 144,000 of them?

All of those persecuted and murdered Christians would have celebrated and partook of the emblems, so non-anointed were partakers.

The alternative is that there were less than 144,000 Christians in the early part of Christianity, which is nonsense. In fact it is far less than 144,000 because many 10,000's have partaken since the 1900's.

If JW's have gone from 18,000 at the memorial in 1914 to 186,000 just thirty years later, how quickly would the first century Christians have increased with miracles being performed in front of them?

What you suggest is that God did not have a choice as to who was anointed. If you were born into Christianity because of your parents, you were automatically anointed?

Congregation had to relocate Memorial...thanks to me

so, the two local congregations were planning to hold their memorial together at 7:30 at the local community center, but they had to make a last-minute change to their own hall, and i'm pretty sure it was because of me.. let me explain.... at work on monday afternoon, a co-worker returned from her lunchbreak and showed me the memorial invitation that was waiitng in her door when she went home for lunch.

i noticed the sticker on the back indicated the memorial was being held, not at the local hall, but at the community center.

from a past (non-jw) event i attended there, i knew they didn't allow alcohol (unless you pay for security guards), so i wrote to the center's coordinator:.

It's funny in a "it's typical JW's" sad sort of way.

I see it all the time at my hall.

You have unskilled, untrained, inept brothers stumbling from one cock-up to the next, simply because their only qualification to take on a task is that they do 10 hours ministry each month.

They 'look after' the K.Hall but have no clue as to legal obligations, they 'attend' not knowing how to handle any incidents, they bodge yearly accounts, screw up anything that that needs some semblance of intelligence, take dangerous shortcuts when storing cleaning materials, spend as little money as possible doing dodgy maintenance tasks with a 'that will do' attitude, fail to maintain a store of legally required first aid items, and they spend the congregations money without it being properly authorised.

The elders are all legal trustees but none of them have a clue what that really means, but they make up rules that they think, in their mentally stunted world, will be good for everyone only for the CO to come and put them right. Again.

It's funny but it's sad. The ability to think for oneself has been replaced with a constant need for concensus.

It also is common to every single K.Hall in the world.

At our memorial, this was read:

(1Co 11:23-26) "For I received from the Lord that which I also handed on to YOU, that the Lord Jesus in the night in which he was going to be handed over took a loaf 24 and, after giving thanks, he broke it and said: “This means my body which is in YOUR behalf. Keep doing this in remembrance of me.” 25 He did likewise respecting the cup also, after he had the evening meal, saying: “This cup means the new covenant by virtue of my blood. Keep doing this, as often as YOU drink it, in remembrance of me.” 26 For as often as YOU eat this loaf and drink this cup, YOU keep proclaiming the death of the Lord, until he arrives."

The point was made that this statement was made by Paul to the anointed.

However, read who Paul was actually speaking to in his letter introduction:

(1Co 1:1, 2) "Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through God’s will, and Sos′the·nes our brother 2 to the congregation of God that is in Corinth, to YOU who have been sanctified in union with Christ Jesus, called to be holy ones, together with all who everywhere are calling upon the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ, their Lord and ours:"

Paul addresses his letter to both the anointed and the non-anointed in the Corinthian congregation.

This informs us that the Greek Scriptures were not just for the anointed, and also that non-anointed were present and partaking of the emblems during the first century.
