  WT article on ''never have we said Jehovah has said"

  been going nuts looking for this.. i am sure i have read, and probably saved, a quote by them about not being false prophets but i am buggered if i can find it anywhere in search, google or my own pc.. can you help?.

  i think its 2009 but not sure, where they have the line 'never have we said ''jehovah has said'' when ...'.

  a link or pdf or scan or cut n paste, etc would be great!.

  hamsterbait - that WT sentiment was recently restated. Note the WT instruction to 'read':

  A Faders Guide to Field Service

  as a fader, i'm working on a mental guide to field service.

  because most of this is a mental exercise realizing that your new knowledge, the mental side of things, is what makes it so hard to preach after learning ttatt.

  what presentations have you used in field service as a fader to preach the good news without preaching jw propaganda?.

  "Good morning, we're showing folks (wt like this word) a scripture from the Bible that tells us why it's important to live by Bible standards. Do you have time for me to read this to you?"

  Basically, mention the Bible, make it sound judgmental, and leave them with the option of saying "No!".

  You'll also get kudos for trying to use the Bible on f.service.

  Heavenly Gates Closed in 1935… Re-opened in 2007

  since 1935, the watchtower had been categorically teaching (for over 6 decades) that the heavenly calling of the 144,000 anointed christians had ceased in 1935. this teaching was especially significant to older jws (especially those who spent much of their lives serving the watchtower as pioneers, elders, missionaries, bethelites, etc.

  ) because many of these would eventually turn their attention to the aging governing body members and feel a sense of relief knowing that the end was drawing ever so near.

  in other words, as more governing body members (who were born before 1935) passed away, the closer they would get to their long-awaited reward of surviving armageddon and living on paradise earth where they would finally hug grass-eating lions near a waterfall while marveling at snow-peaked mountains in the distance.

  Adding to jwfacts post, the way we are seeing the number of anointed/partakers grow again ties into scripture.

  When Jesus used the illustration of workers in a vineyard (Mt 20), he said some came in the morning, some at the third hour, others at the sixth hour and more at the ninth hour. Jesus did not say all the workers arrived in the morning and slowly petered out through the course of the day.

  These workers are the anointed. If the year 2000 corresponds to the ninth hour then you should expect the number of anointed to be increasing once again as Jesus invites these ones into his vineyard.

  There is no scriptural basis to be saying that they should be in continual decline from the arbitrary date of 1935.

  EIGHT DATES FOR WHEN THE ANOINTED WERE 'FINALLY SEALED'?

  Russell originally set the date for the final sealing of the 144,000 as being 1878.

  This was subsequently moved to 1881, 1910, 1914, then 1925.

  Then in the Watchtower 1933 Nov 15 it was shown that the parable of Matthew 20:1-16 related to the 12 years from 1919 and hence the close of the sealing was changed to 1931.

  In 1969 this was changed again to coincide with the introduction of the Great Crowd doctrine in 1935:

  w69 12/15 p. 756 par. 9 “Make Disciples”—Till When?

  "It is likewise evident that the vision of the “great crowd” (Rev. 7:9) was given to John the apostle after he had the vision of the 144,000 sealed spiritual Israelites. Hence this vision would apply now, specifically since 1935, when the sealing of the 144,000 spiritual Israelites appears coming to its close."

  Exactly what 'evidence' is that? Apparently none, as admitted in 2007.

  "Thus it appears that we cannot set a specific date for when the calling of Christians to the heavenly hope ends." Watchtower 2007 May 1 p.31

  Note: There are a number of likely contributors to this latest admission. By the year 2005, 1935 was 70 years prior and an irrelevant embarrassment. Even the Governing Body contained few born prior to 1935. (Since 2012, all GB members were born after the 1935 'final sealing'). Furthermore, from around 1980 the number of memorial partakers was no longer declining but stable at around 8,500 people, later rising each year from year 2000 until there were over 12,500 partakers in 2012.

  when was it first introduced that the watchtower organisation was chosen in 1919?

  i expect this was something first published under rutherford, as a way of making his leadership more important than that of russell, but would like some evidence to back that claim up.. .

  I found a reference in Salvation (1939) which says on page 67-68 "Jehu in the performance of his duty and commission pictured Jesus Christ, the great Executioner and Vindicator of Jehovah's name, and also the faithful followers of Christ Jesus and particularly "the remnant" from and after the year 1919."

  1919 is also mentioned on pages 145 - 147 in relation to the releasing from prison both literally and from Babylon.

  sharing my wild day at work today because it is 1am and i can't sleep.. i am an assistant manager at an apartment community.

  the manager has been a complete nightmare (bipolar and incompetent) so the last 10 months have been challenging to say the least.

  got to work this morning and our regional was already there which was a little strange but half expected due to something that happened last week.

  So has Christ's reign already started, or is the start still future?

  If it started in 1914 then that is when Satan was abyssed, but if the abyssing is future then Christ cannot have been reigning for 100 years.

  What's going on??
