JW.org Email Service - Now I've Seen EVERYTHING!!!
by jw07 inmaybe i'm late but i just discovered that elders now have an email service run on the jw.org domain name.. those emails might contain a treasure trove of very sensitive material regarding rape, molestation, pedophilia cases etc.. the cult keeps getting creepier and creepier.
why would they do that in this day and age, lots of damning stuff in one place?.

Those emails are BOE letters etc.
We seem to get most of what Bethel sends out anyway.

Must the Elders Always be Told?
by snugglebunny ini recall that some years ago the wt stated that not all offences need to be reported to the elders, but that confessing serious sins to another person who was not an elder could suffice.
the article stated that this did not include sexual offences and that these must be reported to the elders.. can anyone throw any light on this please?.

rumor out that governing body is going to adjust the loveing disfellowshiping arangment df yes shunning no.

The only effective part of DF'ing is the shunning, everything else is a bonus!
No more answering, ministry, talks, 'privileges'. etc.
Drop the shunning and everyone would want to be DF'd!

Practise that fake smile, you know, the one you wear when you say how good it is to receive a new talk assignment, or how good it is to be on the ministry this morning even though it's damp and cold, you're not very well and any non-judged, sensible person would have stayed at home for the sake of their health.
Enjoy your meetings where you're dog tired from working all day/week and you've either heard the same thing 1000 times before, or you've just had a long term teaching reversed - one you've defended vigorously on the ministry, proving it from the scriptures.
Enjoy the guilt of looking at your field service report at the end of the month, wondering how comes you did so little and hoping no-one will say anything to you about it. Or the guilt of sitting in the Hall with a non-underlined WT, or the guilt of placing magazines you haven't read yourself, or the guilt of missing Family Worship and being asked how your family does it, or the guilt of not yet watching the latest GB member on jw TV and finding yourself in a conversation about how good they are...
Enjoy that moment of horror and panic when an elder asks you into the back room, only to tell you that you they would love to hear you answering up more frequently, and can they make an appointment for shepherding?
Enjoy that feeling, knowing that if you hadn't been brought up in the Truth, if someone came to your door with this incomprehensible message of overlapping generations, you would have easily seen it for what it is and stayed well clear, but now you're hopelessly committed.
Love the fact that your children won't be allowed to make anything of themselves, and like you, your parents and your grand parents, they will go through their entire lives believing the end is "soon", eventually realising far too late that they were duped, and will die in this system along with everyone else.
Indeed. Mission Accomplished.

Jehovah's witness doctrine on "only 144,000 are born again" easily debunked!
by yogosans14 inthese verses in particular were an eye opener for me.
of course in the jws i thought only 144,000 are truly born again and are part of the new covenant but the bible says else wise.
i know most here will disagree with me but try to have a open mind here :).

There's hardly any commentary on 1 John 5:1 in the WT library, but where there is we find some real twisting of logic:
*** w86 7/15 p. 23 par. 12 Always Display Love and Faith ***
"John next shows what loving God really means. (Read 1 John 5:1-5.) First, the apostle points out that “everyone believing that Jesus is the Christ” (the Messiah, or Jehovah’s Anointed One) “has been born from God,” or been spirit-begotten by Jehovah. Moreover, everyone who loves the Begetter, Jehovah, loves anyone else “born from that one.” Yes, all of God’s anointed children love him and would be expected to love one another. Such brotherly love also is characteristic of the “great crowd” of “other sheep” having earthly hopes."
In the only other WT which comments on this verse they put everyone in quotation marks so as to make it look non-literal:
So it starts by saying what the Bible says, that all believers are anointed, then without any sort of explanation makes some spurious and unrelated distinction between the anointed and the Great Crowd.*** g74 8/22 p. 28 Must You Be Born Again? ***
"These things help us to understand the apostle John’s statement about “everyone” believing in Jesus as being born from God. (1 John 5:1)"This technique of adding spurious quotation marks to change something to being symbolic is not new. They even do this in the Bible at 1 Sam 28:15 where Saul is speaking to "Samuel". There are no quotations in the Hebrew but WT doesn't seem to worry about such minor things if it suits their (current) agenda.

JWTalk is a land of fear.
Unless you "Hoorah!" the GB every time they speak and quote them often, shed tears with each new song released, spontaneously state how much you love Jehovah over and over and embrace every new teaching with a praise to New Light, then expect to be badgered, accused, judged and finally banned.
Every other post begins with an apology, and any topic even suggesting you might be thinking apart from the WT will bring a storm of searching, nastily worded inquisitions.
The board is like being permanently in front of a JC, except the suspicion and unreasonableness there is turned up to 100%.
The Bible Discussion section of the forum is just a place to share WT articles, with the discussion consensus always falling to whoever has the most recent reference. Everyone is assumed to be an apostate (Wow! Do they love to label people with that!!), and it's down to each one to prove otherwise. Expect every statement you post to be publicly questioned, casting hateful insinuations on your motives.
The only ones who thrive there are the kowtowers who no longer think for themselves in any way whatsoever, the gossip wannabies (it often gets news from Bethelites before it hits the congregations), and the moderator control freaks.
No wonder so many on there admit to being broken and depressed. It truly is a desperately cultish place of fear.

Confusion over the parable of the prodigal son
by economy inthough parable of prodigal son is superlative in quality as it graphically picturizes the scientific law of cause and consequence, its conclusion defames god.
when the prodigal son returned repentant, his father showed his delight saying: let us celebrate this by killing a fattened calf.
(luke 15:23) such a concept (let us rejoice by giving maximum pain to another innocent living being) seems to be interpolation for the following reason:.

I would have thought that maximum pain would be grilling it first.
