  I well remember the transition to a 'simplified' model.

  The WT clearly underestimated your average JWs love of free stuff however because they had to follow up with repeated reminders that "literature is not free, it is without cost", and that the idea wasn't to allow every JW to suddenly order themselves a full theocratic library at the expense of the WT society.

  I wonder what that unplanned consequence cost them as every JW promptly ordered Insight volumes for themselves and their friends.

  In this clip Jackson admits:

  • There have been problems in the JW organization, just like other organizations.

  • These child abuse problems have existed for 20-30 years within the organization.

  • The JW organization and it's elders are not immune from the problems of child sexual abuse.

  • Those highlighting these issues are not attacking JW's or their beliefs.

  • The person making the accusations do not matter, only if the accusation has a basis.

  • They want to treat victims in a loving way

  the new convention video about the end, the many videos at conventions and meetings, the new songs, all highly emotionally manipulative.

  These extreme videos will wake some up.

  It will dawn on some that sci-fi movies have no place in religion because religion should be more than superficial special effects set to a dramatic and emotional soundtrack.

  They will realise that there's nothing of substance left anymore.

  according to the bible teach book on page 78, it says, “since the days of the apostles, god has been selecting faithful christians in order to complete the number 144,000”.

  the following is in their privacy policy:.

  It will come down to whether the org would prefer to delete any of your data or not.

  Anything incriminating against them and it'll go. Everything else they'll keep.

  It doesn't really matter what the law requires, JW's aren't bound by such trivialities.

  The Label Of "Apostate" And It's Effects

  in my psychology studies we've been examining the use of "labels" and how they influence peoples behaviour.

  i sometimes wonder if the gb or their helpers know exactly what they're doing when it comes to psychological manipulation.. it's been observed that by labeling someone or something it changes your entire perception of that person or thing.

  it colours it entirely, quite unfairly in some cases.

  Atlantis An Elder and I received a BOE 3 days ago and the BOE was dated from 2017. A full year ago and we already have the BOE in collection.

  Maybe you could get someone skilled like MeanMrMustard to compare the 2017 and 2018 PDFs at a binary or hex level to see if there are differences (e.g. scanning codes).

  It would be good to know for certain if WT are trying to close down leakers this way.

  advice please/data protection

  i have just received an email from an elder's wife regarding the new data protection laws.

  between the lines it sounds like she has been asked to contact me.. she says they 'don't want to leave me out' so they want me to fill out the form as 'i'm still part of the congregation'.

  also, my blood card needs updating, apparently.. the elder in charge will be in contact.. obviously, i'm not doing either, but what do i do?

  If they press you into responding ask:

  "Can I fulfill all of my scriptural obligations without signing the form? If not, which scriptural obligations are affected, and why?"

  "In the instructions you received for getting people to sign this form, does it say that you must not pressure people to sign it? That being so, if I refuse to sign it, should that be the end of the matter?"

  "If you wish to speak to me about my refusal to sign the form, would you object if I recorded the discussion?"
