  blondie posted her watchtower comments for today and her last paragraph was asking for help, suggestions.

  she is in pain from her knee injury, is on steroids and possibly going to have surgery.. she is asking if anyone here, has had the same problem, and if so, what did they do and how was the outcome?.

  a customer on my route with whom i have had some lively debates was his number 1 complaint is that "the witnesses have so many rules".

  last month i agreed with on this issue.

  he asked why the change, i told him that i have been doing some soul searching.

  James I'm also sorry if my post upset you. That is most definitely not the intention. It's just that when you grow up in a society of people who are supposed to be God's chosen people and you believe it with all your heart, then you find out it was one lie after another, man that's the most traumatic thing ever. So as Tech49 said, it does take time to change the thinking. There are safe ways to do it and you are yourself new to this process. You are essentially de-programming yourself and your family from being in a doomsday cult. That is a hard pill to swallow but it is a fact. Steve Hassan has a book on the BITE method that you may want to read. There's a lot of help in this forum but we are all in different stages of our journey out. One of the most important things to do in my opinion is to teach your kids critical thinking and let them know that they can ask ANY question about doctrine or whatever without getting into trouble. My dad never allowed any questions whatsoever. He still doesn't, he's happy to have his blinders on.

  As for witness kids having better morals, don't believe that for another second. Some of the worst influences were other witnesses, not all, but some. My best friend and influence was worldly. She even called me on it when I was going to eat a holiday cupcake and she meant it! Lol You have to vet all kids but don't limit them to only having witness friends.

  We just want to help, you're embarking on a scary and tenuous journey, we truly do understand that.

  i'm not far away from sending out a bunch of letters to all the jw's who i knew when i was one.

  the letters are the accumulation of the last few months of research etc.

  i've put a lot of effort into wording things just right so that that the jw's don't instantly throw it in the trash.

  My biggest concern for you is putting all your contact info out there. I'd suggest setting up an e-mail account that is specifically for this. Lately I've been seeing people post hate messages that they've received and other things that are unsettling. Just be safe, you are about to kick the hornets nest and it's best to be protected.

  Good on you for doing this though! If just one person is effected that would be great.

  Rumor: April 3, 2015 start of Great Tribulation?

  on another forum, somebody mentioned that there is a growing belief with those high up in watchtower hierarchy that the great tribulation will begin april 3, 2015. evidently, one has to check the skycharts for that date and compare with 33 ceand also compare with the history of jws for past 40, 80, 120 years.

  dont ask me to verify the rumor...these things come and go.

  im sure lots of people in hq believe all sorts of things.. .

  James I understand the reasoning but personally I'd think your child would really have reason to look up to you with respect if you were to explain why you don't believe any longer. Kids are so smart and they're already doing a lot of thinking for themselves. My concern for you would be if you keep up with appearances and FS then there's a good chance that your child will stay in even if you don't. It's more risky IMO to live the lie than it is to raise a child outside of a religion. After all, it's definitely not religion that makes us good people. It's the daily choices we make and the way you can help your son/daughter is to lead by example with integrity. I'd suggest getting them involved in the community volunteering with the local animal shelter or something like that. That way they can learn about being responsible for another life, etc. there are soooo many opportunities out there that whatever your kid is interested in hobby wise, environmentally, animals, there's some way to get involved. It's when kids have nothing to do and no hope for the fixture that they get into trouble. Just my two cents.

  When I was little the mother of my dads friend was anointed. She was nice but seemed a bit silly. Then when I was older my friends grandma was anointed. She was mean and cranky. She also told my brother to stand behind a cow and catch some of its urine and put it on his face. He had a little acne.

  Blood Ban Witch Hunt in Progress

  i have had my own power of attorney drawn up and sent to my non jw family to void out my old card.

  but now the society is pretty much forcing the issue on everyone with the emergency contact information (witchhunt) gathering drive every year and basically not taking a no for an answer fill it ot or get pulled in back.

  well i am giving them the big fu this time i filling their card out but listng my non jw family on it as the contact and then filling yet another power of attornty to void out their stupid card again..

  calling all elders - what goes on at the week long elders school?

  my dad is currently attending a week long elders school.

  dad is in his 70's and not in great health at the moment so this is adding to my anger that he is having to leave the house at 7am and doesn't return until 6pm and then has to lock himself away to study further in preparation for the next day.. he has also been told he is not to discuss anything about the school with other elders until they have all attended.

  what are they learning about that isnt' already out there for all to read anyway.. they can't be learning more bible stuff as the bible is there to be read by the general public so i can only assume that its all top secret stuff that the rest of the congregation can't know about.

  To me elders and cops have a lot in common. There are great people who really want to help and there are total chauvinistic, dominating a-holes aho want to hurt. I've seen plenty of each. But they all have one thing in common, they think they were put in that position by a righteous authority. But it's up to their true character of how they wield the badge and the bible.

  All of their rhetoric against civil, environmental and animal rights just shows how ignorant they truly are. After all, wasn't Moses technically a civil rights leader? God didn't say wait a few years and I'll think about it. He said get your ass over to the Pharoah's place now and make him free my people! And quit complaining about it too. lol
