I'm sorry it has come to this...it looks like Post Traumatic Disorder to me. Crawdad seems to have a lot of first hand knowledge of abuse that happened, perhaps he feels guilty he was/is not able to do something about it. I can identify with the feelings of helplessness and the anger that follows. I also hope that Craw will get some help. If you read this Craw please know I don't think you are garbage...just hurting. I enjoyed Tim's board very much, made many friends, met up with some board members in person...wonderful.
But, IMHO, a "guru" type took over the board and that pretty much turned me off.

I confess, I was a real self righteous witch with a "b"...true believer here too. I took it seriously (pioneering) and hated the sister cliques that stopped at every garage sale and latte stand. I also hated the popularity game of being picked for car groups. I always ended up with the older sisters, the menopausal sisters, the new sister that was a very butch looking longshore (sp?)woman.
If I had known what a crock it all was, I coulda had a lot of fun with it!!

My favorite living actor.Sean Penn "Im still lucky!!" (U Turn), Dead man walking, Thin Red Line, Falcon and the Snowman, Carlitos Way, and Fast Times. I havent seen Sam I Am yet.
Second favorite is Jack Lemmon, Save the Tiger, Odd Couple, Some Like it Hot, my daughter and I saw a matinee of Mass Appeal, she was just a kid, but had a very mature taste in movies, a fond memory for me.
Honorable mention: Kenneth Branagh (if I can sit through four hours of Hamlet, he's gotta be good), Billy Bob ("I reckon") loved Bandits, Jack Nicholson, John Malkovich
Favorite actresses, the British have it here, Emma Thompson, Maggie Smith, Helena Bonam Carter, Vanessa Redgrave. American: Jane Fonda, Sally Field, Holly Hunter, Susan Sarandon and Jodie Foster.
Favorite Films: a tie between The Color Purple and Shawshank Redemption both left an enormous lump in my throat, thats my gauge. I remember being blown away by Body Heat, I saw a sneak preview in Westwood, didn't know what the film would be about...hot!

Inglewood cops are insane

i hope the cop that threw the punch not only gets fired but has criminal charges brought against him.
what makes it worse is those dumb-asses are going to make it harder for the good cops (that make up 90% of the police force) to do their job, because everyone is going to assume all cops are like those creeps.

I also would love to know what anyone of you would do in that situation. With your adrenaline high, injured, fearful there may have been a gun, threat that you may be shot at, etc, etc. The cop is only human people, just as all of us are.
I would hope if I were a cop "in that situation" I wouldn't respond like a regular person on the street. If you are a cop, aren't you trained ahead of time in dealing with fear and adrenaline?? Yes, the cop is only human, but with the position and power of being a police officer comes higher accountability...

Had JW's at my door on Saturday
by Brymichmom inwell i rarely get jw's at my door at all.
but today, i had them in my neighborhood and boy, oh boy, what an experience!

Very well done, I also liked your approach. I have decided to outright lie and act like I was never a witness and just state a friend of mine left the jws for various reasons...then go into pretty much your same senario...I guess it's not a lie, my husband is my best friend.
