How the Governing Body produces accurate knowledge

the governing body is like the fella in that small town out west whom everybody agreed was "the best shot in town.".

Terry, reading this post made me:

1) laugh, out loud. Just the title (which seems to allude to the factory/production mentality of the WT Corporation and gets to the heart of what they "produce".

2) think of the joke "three legged dog walked into the the bar, said to the bar keep, "i'm looking for the man that shot my paw";

3) " They can't really miss because they are the only one's allowed to evaluate their own accuracy. God forbid anybody else should dare!" summed up what I've been trying to figure out for quite a while. Similar to your thought along the lines of 'when you try to tell me what Bible writers were thinking and feeling you're way off base' (you were more eloquent, substance sufficeint though, right?)

4) Think: Playing poker with the GB sucks. They win because they say they won, never show their cards (not even allowed to ask to see them) and take the money and run! Oh, and you die if you don't agree. Now those are some serious stakes. Makes strip poker seem juvenile.

i remember having been to a convention or a$$emby for however many days and when i came back i didn't want to go back to work/school because i felt on a buzz.. what was that all about????.

We used to discuss the "high" at the assembly (which is funny, because no witness talking about it had been any higher than what laughing gas from the dentist gives you) followed by the 'post convention depression" the inevitable low...Hearing all the stuff you're not doing right. Read all the magazines, read your bible all the time if not more often, forgive the inevitable dumbassery of the elders (they are only human) and donate! My sisters were always recruited to sit at contribution boxes, what a waste of time.

but we all know that sometimes rumors become a reality.. supposedly the public watchtower and awake magazines will be combined together and the two shall become one.. i wonder if the present 16 page "rags" are becoming an embarrassment.

they truly are rags of the lowest quality..

Power Struggle At Head Quarters Reason For Governing Body New Light?

well could it be that we overlooked this little idea in our reasonings on why the governing body is comming up with new light they love the idea of?

about the f&ds?.

you know to keep any type of rebellion at bay before it starts.. have you ever woundered what many that are closely associated with the governing body are feeling about these new guys called the governing body right now with all this new light loved by the governing body,,i smell trouble a brewing for these guys right there at headquarters i'm sure thier dealing with everbody they meet they reflect this same attitude so they got to be making enemies..

NEW LIGHT on any level is a loyalty text and must be studied for, in a "what would I do if...God told me to sacrifice my only son to him ala Abraham and Isaac..."

Accept, Obey, Repeat. Accept, Obey, Repeat.

Everything you do is a "test of loyality"...

And is it any wonder JW's are nuts??? And, again, We'll do all your thinking for you.

Fantasy "Forbidden Fruit" Ex-Witness Party

if you could get all willing participants on this board together in one area for a party, and told them to bring favorite music, food, movies, and dressed in certain fashion, all of which has been discouraged or outright banned either by the wts or by their flunkies (do, co, elders, busybodies in the hall, etc.

), what would you bring?.

Are we any better then the organization that has hurt so many ? I am a new member and feel the need to ask this question

this is my first post here on jehovahs witness.net.

i joined a ltitle while ago but have been deciding if i want to become active on this site and i believe the response to my question here will determine my descision.

i am a former jehovahs witness and have quite a story.

It's an important step in healing...find people who were wounded in a similar way, see how they cope/coped then move on. We're everchanging. today's excuses become tomorrows reasons and the other way around, too. we find other who cope the way we do too. I'm totally impressed by the intelect and wisdom of Cedars, Blondie and Leola...and love the wit and humor others use (Terry, and X-Bethel Billy one the other funny folks too!
