jgnat: got 404 on the link. She is not that inquisitve. I would probably need to add a shortcut/link to jw.org and that would be enough. I guess I could add a few more to 'other' sites. Would be worth the investment to get her out. Thanks...

The wife just got back from the service meeting tonight and she is pumped! Apparently, I need to buy her an iPad for field service. They had the demos outlined in the KM and she is really excited about it. This is an old woman who barely knows how to use her old Nokia phone. I'm not sure how the touch screen thing is going to work for her. Usually when she wants to use the computer for any reason, I can expect pain.

Your earliest doubt?
by Apognophos inthis might be an unfair question for those who have been out of the organization for decades, but i'm wondering if any of you remember your earliest doubt -- maybe something odd that occurred to you as a kid (if you were a jw then).
please try to limit to two doubts at the most :-).
i think my first "doubt" was simply realizing that at the time of the flood, every animal that wasn't in the ark died (well, besides the fish, supposedly).

World wide flood in 2370. Then some time later, after Tower of Babylon incident, history as we know it began. All of Egyptian and Sumerian history compressed into about 180 years. Really?
It seemed like I would have as much success convincing someone with ANY knowledge of history that this was reasonable as I would trying to prove that WWII ended in 1995. I always hoped nobody would want to talk about it at the door and ask me if I believed that.

A populations numbers game: After the flood
by PSacramento inon another forum:.
with the flood at about 4,500 years ago, it needs less than 0.5% per year growth.
i think today's rate is about 1.7%.

There is no way in hell that all of known history could be squeezed into the time from when 'the earth was divided' (sometime after 2370) until Abraham showed up in Egypt. 2370 is total nonsense. I wish I had chosen that as my username: 2370.

2012 Best Year Ever....Agree or Disagree

No I don't agree. If you are in the top 1-5% bracket, ok. But for the rest of us, no! Your 'evidence' is wrong on so many levels. Reading MSM for meaningful news analysis is just messed up! I personally expect the slow grind downward to continue... Let me guess. You still have a decent job with benefits like health insurance... Please take off the rose-colored glasses for a few minutes and look around.

Fading in another country
by sillygirl2013 inthis is my first topic here, i'm a bit nervous and hope no police-y jw elder/ms is trolling this site looking for faders.
paranoia i hope, not anything close to reality :-).
so i've been away from my country for a year now, working in this fantastic country in europe.

So just turn in an 'average' report every month and be done with it. You can count your time here if it helps. I'm in 'another' country now and it helps that they don't speak English. Avoid showing up at any 'english' speaking congregations and you are good to go. Just have them send you card to a cong in another city.

3/15/12 WT: Health Problems Causing You To Become Spiritually Weak? Then You Are Wicked.
by yourmomma inhttp://download.jw.org/files/media_magazines/e1/ws_e_20130315.pdf.
check out the first study article in the march 15th study edition.
it seems they are now stating that if you allow health problems to cause you to miss meetings or become inactive then you are wicked because you refuse to "get up" from being stumbled.

Guapo's story reminds me of a simlliar experience I had a couple of years ago. I was out with an elder distributing invitations to the memorial and we skipped a house on the street. A few minutes later, a 'wordly' sister of one of our older 'sisters' with poor health chased us down. It seems her sister had seen us in the window and started crying when we did not stop in. So we went back and the best this 'sheperd' could do was encourage her to come to the meetings. The woman could not even walk! No warmth, no empathy. I was totaly embarassed by the whole situation. He probably saw her as just an unproductive drag on his time, too needy!

Jehovah's Witnesses dismayed by new magazine format from Watchtower Society.
by Balaamsass inwow.
i was surprised this week by calls from active jws complaining about the new magazine format, and more begging for money from the platform.. frankly i was surprized by this reaction since this is old news to jwn members.
i guess actually shuffling to the bookroom and grabbing the new "awake tracts" minus the inside cover forward ...awakened many sleepy, catatonic, bored jws who never read the things or go on the internet anyway.. any feedback from other areas?.

"Assembly Day 1" "Elders Will Help You Understand Society's Publications That Contradict The Bible"???
by ÁrbolesdeArabia in"data-dog", elders do not have time to involve themselves with publishers "personal, secret views", why can't the sheep do their own personal thinking and keep it to themselves if they desire to remain "in good standing"?
watchtower is afraid of the internet, men like simon, randy and greg stafford, anderson cos (women too) sites putting questions into thinking jws heads.
the wts is nervous because of the effect sites like jwn, freeminds, e-watchman, elihu , jw romania".

@Larsinger58 - that was one of your best posts ever.
I was going to send that 'as-is', but to be honest I haven't read all your posts. To be fair, I recognize that we all have some issues.
