after leaving jw's i have come to really despise religion, and how it manipulates and controls people.
what really irks me is when people try to inject their religious ideals into public policy in this day and age.. modern examples of where the mixing of religion and politics is bad for people is; countries like iran, where you get stoned for apostacy against muhammad, or countries like england where they are allowing people to get sharia law going.
we also have christians trying to get their ideals back into governments and schools like prayers at schools right here in the u.s.. imho such things are unnacceptable for public policy in this age of scientific understanding.

so i thought i would take a moment to nip this one in the bud, rather than have my words twisted further than what they have been.

okay, now it's my turn to start a thread about the gb/fds "new light" now that it's been well covered by many threads.
i've noticed that a few have brought this subject up with dub family who accepted wt "new light" without objection, saying that it "made sense" for the fds to only be the gb.
so i have an idea of how to bring this up with my family in such a way that will highlight that this doesn't make sense... at all.. and the timing of this whole thing is incredibly convenient for me since it wasn't that long ago that this came up with my parents and i said that the wt interpretation of the fds in matthew was out-of-context and flawed.
billy, it is unconscienable to let your family get ripped off by a publishing house. but is it less unconscianable to break their faith? that is not sarcasm, i am really interested in other opinions as i am torn between the options myself.

palm, it is called plausible deniability. if you take credit for your own actions you must take responsibility for being wrong every now and again. jesus does not take responsibility for ppls mistakes. why give him credit for your mental growth/understanding?
