Have you grown detached from caring about JW family and old friends?

after being out of the borg for a year and a half, weve dealt with a lot of nonsense from local elders stopping by unannounced, well-meaning do-gooders trying to encourage us.

somehow weve managed to get through this without getting dfd/dad.

for me the worst part of it all has been that much of my family has shunned me, and stopped talking to me, as soon as they heard through the grapevine that i wasnt going to meetings.

this is a great question. YES. those people alienated themselves. F- em. i have no time for folks like that; my family included.

people as individuals are great. but put them in a group and holy shitballs they are DUMB. ex. black friday. respect to your friend. i recently dropped my wallet at a gunshow with $400.00 in it. a little mexican kid about 13 years old ran after me to give it back. i was so blown away with the honesty of that kid i dropped him a hundred bill if only because my licsence and id cards were worth it. this beer is for your friend.

i've decided to start a thread on christian theology, wherein i will lay out what i believe scripture teaches about baptism... because i can.

throughout the first 1500 years of christian history, it was universally understood that the christian is 'born again' at water baptism (and the majority of christians still hold to this) but then many christians started to argue that baptism was just a symbol of obedience, but i posit that nowhere in the bible will you find a verse that claims baptism is just a symbol, instead scriptural references to baptism always claim that it actually achieves something:.

john 3:5 - born of water and spirit.

i have to ask you to define "born of spirit". that sounds metaphorical. i want literal. if i wanted to perform the ceremony tommorow with my buddy, an online registered minister, how can i get born into the spirit.
