my handle: mindchild comes from computer scientist and futurist dr. hans moravec: who wrote the book, the future of robot and human intelligence which is a book about when we will be able to construct machines capable of human intelligence and raises the possibility of uploading ourselves (every thought we ever had) into an android body much superior to the human ones we have now.
i entertain the hope that not only will i live long enough to see this happen, i will transfer myself (the complete essence of what is me) into a body of my own choosing and become immortal if i so choose.
When I first started posting on internet boards, I was still very angry about the policies of the WTS that allow child molestation to continue and perpetrators to go unpunished. I'm still passionate about it, but not quite so angry as I used to be. Anyway, in my rose-colored-glasses view of the world, it would be a place safe for children, hence the name.

i am missing windrider and decided to write this.. sometimes people wonder if a fairy tale can come true.

I am so happy for both of you, that you've found each other and found happiness...the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
As for fairytales and dreams coming true, sadly, I don't think that is the case for everyone. There are those few lucky people in life who find their soulmates and weather the storms of life together, but I think for many of us, that just isn't the case. I won't "settle" for someone as I wouldn't want someone to do the same with me but I also have lost all faith in dreams and fantasies. I've lost too much of myself to be able to hold onto such ideals...but hey, I still have my sense of humor! (even tho it's not in evidence at the moment )
Sorry if this sounds a bit negative; I don't mean to take away from your story at all. This is just a subject that has been very much on my mind lately.

let's paint a little picture.. it's spring 2002. at 1200h gmt a radio and tv announcement is broadcast on almost all conventional frequencies, in appropriate formats according to the medium and the area.. it's from a bunch of pale violet humaniods who have come "in peace for all qw'z'x>kind".
they say they want to meet up with the un in full cnongress.. disbelief rapidly turns to amasement when cnn and other news-services provide footage of a large alien vessel descending into the river near the un.
large in this case means 5km long... and wisely, none of the sac jets sent to have a look pull a will smith or anything stupid, although one gets nudgeed gently away by an invisable beam of some sort when it gets too close.. let's say it becomes apparent the aliens are utter benign, happy to hand out technological aid, scientific knowledge, and hope to welcome the people of earth to your typical peaceful federation of planets (about 5,00 different species all told).. how do you think people would react?

no doubt one of the most ask questions ever.
no matter what age you are (in my case fairly young), you've seen gilligan's island, and heard the inevitable argument (especially amoung men), who do you prefer better: ginger or mary anne.. well, i decided to bring the debate here to jw.com, see if there's an (ex) jw consensus on the issue.. my personal favourite is mary anne, by the way.
they were both very attractive, but mary anne's personalty was more down to earth (or naive) to me, and i find that more desirable.
