since i've been here, from around july, 2001, i haven't really shared any personal experiences of why i left the society, except for the story about my sister who committed suicide.
this is kind of long, so i will tell it in parts.
if this is god's organization, i will gladly be a devil worshiper.. here goes....... when i was about 27 years old, (around 1984) after my divorce, i'd moved from laurens, south carolina back to andrews, sc, and rented the house beside my grandmother.

What an absolutely horrible experience to go thru, for you as well as your Aunt. I don't really know what to say, except that unfortunately, the 'love' that we were taught to depend on from the 'brothers' was so rarely in existence. Thank you for opening up to us and sharing what was such a painful experience for you.

i have always been into self-help, have several websites devoted to it ( http://www.empowerthespirit.com), and even wrote a book on it.. now i'm getting my board certified master of clinical hypnotherapy certification, and i'm excited!
i went to a hypnotherapist in the past, and found it helpful.
i started looking in to it last week and found an excellent place to get my certification, http://www.hypnosiseducation.com/.. now, you are not going to believe this!

well, since we already have the "taboo" thread of shaving/trimming... down there, why not have the shaved legs thread?.
i ask this, because i'm not sure if i should shave mine or not.
i have naturally hairy legs/lower body, and it would take regular shaving to make the itching stop!

Now that I've made my standard rant, go ahead and disagree completely. Everyone always does on this subjectI can't disagree with you coz you stated all of this as your preference and who am I to say that's wrong? I wish, oh how I wish! that I wasn't dark haired but if I didn't shave certain parts of my body, believe me, no one would be able to find me in the resulting jungle!
I'm so glad you aren't going to do the comb over!!! ARRGHH! I just don't understand why some men do that as it's so obvious, it actually draws attention to the hair loss instead of camouflaging it. Besides, bald is beautiful!

I love the feel of it when my skin feels so soft and silky...don't tell anyone but I enjoy running my hands up and down my legs after I shave them with that scented bath stuff that makes you sssooo soft and then I put the matching scented lotion on....uuummm so nice...Exactly!
As for men shaving, I personally like hair on a guy's legs! But then, I've never known a man who shaved his legs so I don't really have grounds to make a comparison. If it feels good, do it!

they had posted a comment from a "spiritual widow" and i had to wonder what the heck they meant by that???
what do they consider her hubby already dead???

I was considered a "spiritual widow" and my children "orphans" as a JW (ooooh, may those days NEVER come again! LOL) because I was married to a nonJW. Funny that I never really thought about it back then but I have to wonder how my hubby would have felt had he known that was the party line view. And interestingly enough, although there was MUCH talk about how to treat 'widows and orphans', somehow my kids and I never benefitted from the treatment that was officially espoused by the WTS. I'm not complaining because I didn't miss it until I really needed it and by then, the lack just served to help me out the door a bit faster so actually, I'm grateful!
As a side note, my 'virtually dead' hubby, now ex, was and is still a better father and provider for his children than some of the live JW men I knew (elders included). By their fruits you will know them indeed.

i have posted many times about my jw friend, who still talks to me.
for years we have maintained our friendship, because i have never been df'd or da'd.. she called me this morning to tell me that her husband is being called in for a meeting, by the elders, to discuss her association with me.
we are wondering, now, if a lurker on this board has turned her in.

I'm sorry to hear of this situation...the past year has been hard enough on you and your family! You certainly don't need this. But I was happy to read in your last post that your friend refuses to shun you. She sounds like a true friend and those are rare indeed.
