Is this a discussion forum or a debating forum , which is it ?

do you get confused sometimes whether this site is a discussion forum or a debating forum ?.

Sometimes part way through a debate on here I do find myself seeing the other person's point of view so clearly it is hard to continue with objections to their arguments. This doesn't always mean that I agree with them but I perceive that with their life experience, educational level and personality type I can see where they are coming from.

When I speak of educational level I don't necessarily mean lack of formal education. Some highly intelligent and well-read people swallow the party line of academia whole and refuse to see any agenda beyond the fact that they are wonderful people looking for truth.

So true, 7Starz and welcome. While it is a huge effort at first to hang on to what you know to be right, I now trust my own intellect and my instincts. A million people can be wrong.

I cant seem to look at previous posts, the old system, refer to the previous page ! doesn't work here .

i know we have teething problems simon , but is it me ?

am i doing something wrong ?

or is it a bug that needs to be ironed out.. the old system i could navigate through and view any previous post i had , and also view the latest posts and go back on previous posts that i dont seem to be able to do today .. at the moment it just seems like pot luck with whatever page i`m on.. smiddy.

there are a few things i picked up from watchtowerism that i still find value in.

(although, i could have easily picked them up elsewhere.).

one of these is the 30-day test to abstain from all booze.. .

I did this last January and also gave up chocolate at the same time. I was a bit surprised that a didn't lose a single pound but a good idea to give your liver a rest.

Good Netflix shows to watch

in the long winter nights you need some good tv shows to watch while you wait for the eternity between seasons of game of thrones.. we've watched marco polo (pretty good) and have just started watching orange is the new black which is not at all what i imagined (didn't know it was funny!).

house of cards is on the list too as we've heard good things about that.. anyone have any others that are worth seeing?.

My daughter and I have been watching House all over again but OMG Terry thanks for telling me about The West Wing.

I've been meaning to check if that is on Netflix, brilliant series, very fast pace.

When I first signed in on my iPad I ticked the option to let it remember my password which I think is what keeps you signed in. Do you get that option when you sign in on your phone?

This is the last night of my tree, a Norway spruce.

I understand it represents freedom for you and your wife, especially now you keep the blinds open when you switch the tree lights on.

The smell of that tree is the smell of freedom. I envy you as you start on this path. I have grown blasé about my own freedom. Thanks for the reminder.
