Rich that's terrible. You sound like you are in shock. Is there anyone you can talk to? Someone who will just let you get it all out, how you are feeling? What a terribly sad time for you and your family. 🌹 -

When they said it was Jehovah blessing them when they won nearly every court decision (1950s) they faced. They said they would never beg for money, because Jehovah's Blessing assured there would always be an abundance of financial support. Now they are constantly begging
Brilliant Doc thanks. I'd forgotten they said that about the court cases they'd won. When everything is going right it is God blessing them. When it all starts to go wrong it is Satan persecuting them.
I'm only keeping in contact with them (implying Im interested but never actually saying so) to try and get to my nephew and nieces, who are on social media and look like they may need someone to talk to someday when they figure it out for themselves.
Thursday I hope you manage to get through to them. It's the kids growing up in this cult I feel so sorry for. But now the cultish information control is being threatened by the Internet. What a wonderful tool of Satan the web is, LOL.

My fade might well start today.
by StarTrekAngel inmany here whom have read my previous posts know more or less my situation.
wife is not hardcore but we still bump heads from time to time.
if it wasn't for this cult, and while it was not an issue, we had an almost perfect marriage.

we had an almost perfect marriage. Almost 17 years of honeymoon.
That's quite some track record of married bliss StarTrekAngel. Don't give up yet. Hopefully your love for each other and your girls will get you through this. Perhaps she does mean it that she will let you fade, perhaps she's a pragmatist.

You can always write that you went through the booklet but after you saw the testimony of the elders, overseers and the governing body member Geoffrey Jackson, you would never be able to have a clear conscience if you returned - Saintbertholdt
I like this suggestion. How can anyone hear these accusations on the JW grapevine and not investigate for themselves?
It had nothing to do with "a few bad apples." It had everything to do with the fact that the INSTITUTIONAL RESPONSE by Watchtower regarding abuse - BoC
This is so true. If the rules are criminal, immoral and harming children it can't be the true religion. How difficult is that to understand?

The Searcher, yes I told her all that, that other children are being put at risk by the system that this religion has in place to deal internally with abuse rather than reporting it to the authorities. It just falls on deaf ears, she just goes on about how much we need the new system. It's a refusal to accept responsibility for anything that happens in the world, even in your own backyard.

So I've mentioned this friend of my husband's who started writing to me out of the blue about three years ago, decades after we D'aed. Last August I wrote to her about the ARC and Jackson's summons. I gave her the website details so she could see for herself. I thought she would at least have a look online. Wrong, she sent me that revolting booklet Return to Jehovah instead.
Apparently she says Big J is very merciful and will never forget me. How arrogant, I haven't done anything that needs forgiving.
Child abuse? What does she think about Jackson being forced to appear before the Royal Commision?
'Unfortunately it seems to be everywhere now, how this system stinks! It is so rotten. Yes - even some who call themselves Jehovah's Witnesses may not be true Christians, but we will have to leave that to ...(you know who)
She says 'we all have to answer to God for our actions. It is a very sad world we live in and we so desperately want Jehovah to do something soon - we hope so'.
This booklet says ' (big J) wants me to experience the relief of a clean conscience.' Written by men who hide paedophiles. Apparently 'the elders will treat (me) kindly..they will mercifully help (me) to correct any mistakes I have made'.
Who believes this rubbish! Why would I want to sit at the back of a KH for years with everyone ignoring me. They were doing this to people before I left, why doesn't this JW woman know this?
I don't know if I'll write again. Such wilfull refusal to look at the facts just revolts me. It is actually a sad world that she lives in and waiting for her invisible friend to save little children from abuse when they should all be yelling at their Elders about it is condoning it. I hate cowardice. At times like this I think if they haven't the guts to face reality after sixty years in that religion then they all deserve one another.

Your thoughts on the new Star Wars?
by Coded Logic inso i've thought for a while now that jj has the lowest bar to clear in cinema history.
all he has to do is make a movie that's not as bad as the prequels.
but upon viewing the recent trailers, it looks like he's actually got the "feel" of the originals down.

How confident are you about various so called facts?
by slimboyfat inno facts about the world are absolutely certain.
that being the case i wonder how others would rank amd rate their confidence in various factual statements about the world.
i am going to rate my confidence in ten items of "knowledge" as a percentage.

This is an example of misleading evidence
Crikey, sorry Sir, I got my essay in on time at least. Slim is having fun and I was posting in the same spirit.

19. Decapitation always results in death to the victim.
I'm 100% certain of this fact. I've seen decapitation footage and they all end up dead. come across no evidence that someone has survived being decapitated.
Slimboyfat and everyone else, please respond. The other day I actually came across the source of the phrase running around like a headless chicken. Now I would have said that was bollocks a while back.

Well I just read what nVR2L8 wrote. He spoke to Mouthy on the phone and she said she lost interest in debating on the Internet, so I'm not sure why you're still arguing with me. Have a great evening, VI, I'm going to watch a favourite movie of mine, Bill and Ted's excellent adventure. So party on dude and be excellent to one another.
