When I was much younger I used to believe that there are far more important things women can do than having children. I now think raising happy, healthy and well balanced children is one of the most worthwhile and vital jobs in the world.

Have you ever believed something that turned out to be wrong?
by slimboyfat inapart, of course, from the obvious example of believing the evidence-free assertion of the governing body to be god's representatives on earth.
not to side-step that issue, but i wonder if it might be interesting to relate that huge mistake to other things i've been wrong about and how they compare and contrast with the big one.
a couple of examples of things i was wrong about:.

So will a person who asks the COBE or secretary for a copy then be viewed as weak or a potential apostate? Will congregation members be afraid to ask to see it?

Brilliant PE! She may look at JWfacts and even if it's to prove you are an apostate there is the chance the reasoning on Paul's site might get through to her.

Words for the Day; please share
by compound complex ingreetings, word lovers:.
in my job, i work with words and wrangle them into shape, well, in a manner of speaking.
one word might be mistaken for another, a word with either a similar or identical sound.

Part of Growing Up - Saying Goodbye to Invisible Friends?
by doubtfull1799 ini don’t remember having any invisible friends when i was a really little boy, i don’t know if such a thing actually exists, i’ve only ever seen it in movies?
of course it might have looked to others like i was talking to someone on occasions, but i’m sure it would have just been me talking to myself.
the thing is though, i got introduced to an invisible friend in my pre-teens, and i kept the relationship going well into adulthood.

Xanthippe, people who don't reply are not worth talking to again but with prayer to God there comes a time when you realize was no one there in the first place.
Yes and like you I wish I'd realized this sooner. My husband and I looked for any answers to our prayers and God's blessing in our lives but the only thing that looked after us financially when we were pioneering was our flexible friend, aka our credit card.

I can't even stand it when people don't reply when you speak to them. Talking to an invisible person who never replied frustrated me for years until I woke up one day and realised there's no God.

this old system can not go on much longer
What they mean is they can't go on much longer. My sister went for a brain scan last week. According to my cousin she has ME, arthritis, fibromyalgia, walks with a stick and has had to leave work. I only hope the brain scan doesn't mean the cancer's back. Good god she's only five years older than me and there's nothing wrong with me, l havn't seen a doctor this year.
They are exhausted and desperate for a rest. B, if you're lurking on this forum please rest, there's no new system coming, you need to stop letting them work you to death.

For those who have been out of the Borg for awhile do you have a Authentic Personality? Six points to look at.
by Still Totally ADD ini remember when i first came on this site back in 2007 many of the threads talk about after you leave a cult you need to find your authentic personality.
i have found this takes a lot of effort.
i found this article from the huffington post under healthy living date 7-29-2014.

Doing okay I think except for 2) showing vulnerability, still struggle with that. Got so used to being kicked in the soft underbelly in that cult I learnt to hide it. Thanks Totally ADD very interesting post.
