Sorry I don't remember your story or the background to this but you say you've been disfellowshipped twice by this cult? Why do you want to go back? Your dad's not there anymore.

Attending the 2017 Memorial
by Disassociated Lady 2 inafter contemplating whether or not to attend the memorial this year i finally went.
this time last year i had been reinstated and within weeks the elders summoned me to the kh to interrogate me about my past and place of residence.
i was angry with them and lost my temper and stood up to them.

Sour Grapes this is really shitty for you. Life isn't fair and there isn't a loving God. Wishing you strength and the love of friends and family.
I have said exactly the same thing thing as you posted here, every day their God waits there's more people to destroy and if he knows hearts then why wait.

As is your right, an adult can and does choose whether or not they will accompany someone to a concert, a doctor's visit, to a school play, to a commencement exercise, to a basketball, hockey, baseball or football game, to a night club, to a political campaign event, to a movie or the Grammys. Clearly, not every adult is going to appreciate an invitation from someone to attend the Memorial of Christ's death either and would be content with reading a book.
You know as well as I do that no such right exists within the JW religion djeggnog. If a JW misses the memorial it would be flagged up immediately as a spiritual weakness and could lead to visits from elders. Especially if the person is an elder, MS or pioneer. They may lose their 'privileges' and there may even be the elders visiting asking the loyalty question about who do you recognise as the FDS.There is no such right or adhering to personal boundaries in your religion so stop pretending there is.

Memorial - from disgusted to feeling sorry
by UBM101 ini went with my husband tonight for the first time.
it was pretty appalling how they lied about the 144k and everyone else.
then passing the wine and bread for nothing.

UBM101, that's the whole motivator in Christianity that I hate. How much are you going to work, give, suffer and bleed for this man who was tortured to death for you?

it is the weirdest of JW meetings, and even when I was fully in, left me feeling somewhat depressed.
Yes I always thought so too Phizzy. Miserable and depressing, all that talk of torture and slow death. Horrible. The ritual of pasing the emblems, weird. I hate rituals and always have.
Mickey Mouse I'm looking forward to car share too, loved the last series.

Money and Happiness
by berrygerry inwt has made a number of references to this alleged quote by j. paul getty:.
“money doesn’t necessarily have any connection with happiness.
nothing in my wt life brought more stress and anxiety than not having enough money.. this quote makes far more sense:.

As Homo sapiens we have been naturally selected as people who can cope with grinding hard work, lack of sleep, the ability to channel adrenaline into survival etc. If we then become rich and have lots of leisure time it can affect our happiness level because we are the survivors, the ones who struggled to be here, the ones who made it. As a species we're not biologically cut out for sitting around a pool all day.
I think this is what Getty and other rich people mean, but then there's plenty to be done if you are awash with cash. Plenty of need in this world if they get bored by that pool.

What will I be doing tomorrow evening? Eating dinner with my daughter, especially the yummy chocolate cheesecake she's just made. Trying not to start on the chocolate eggs I bought her for Easter. Watching tv together, not thinking about Jesus being nailed to wood with six inch nails

My daughter's already been to twelve funerals and she's only twenty-one. All close relatives, friends and some school friends. Be happy you have had your parents until they are seventy. My daughter was part of a threesome of little girls at primary school. All three have lost a parent now. Sorry I'm not being very sympathetic Gorby. Life's been tough for my kid losing her dad. Treasure your parents now, you will survive.

Brilliant thank you. Amazing that they think an enquiry by the Charity Commission is interfering with their human rights, this cult that forbids people from talking to their own children for the rest of their lives.
