Great story Gabe. Good reminder that we should at least try with JWs at our door or on the carts, especially the young ones.

little acts of kindness.
by zeb injust had a coffee on way home when two young mums with babys in strollers came in with the usual bags and stuff for the little ones needs.
i recall our days of little ones and the times we rarely went out.. i bought a coffee voucher for each mum and gave them my best wishes.
i delight in doing random acts of kindness.. i wish everyone here as well a safe and happy christmas/ new year time.

Zeb great story, thanks. Sometimes I hold back because well this is England and we're a little insular. I'm afraid people will think what's she after, but I will try harder.
A few days ago I slipped on ice at a supermarket car park and a lady came rushing over to see if I was okay. She had such genuine concern on her face. It would have made made day had it not been for the massive bruise way too near my hip π
Live long and prosper Zeb and Happy Christmas.

Do You Feels That Your Life Was Ruined Because of Ypur JW Experience?
by minimus ini know that some are upset because of the time lost because of ever having been a witness.
have you moved on as an ex jw or are you stil devastated because of your past jw lige?.

Being raised a JW was an obstacle but not the only one. Most people have situations from childhood of one sort or another they have to overcome, and overcoming them is the true heart of the matter.
This helps me when I think along those lines and I can honestly say the bad days come less and less the further away you get from the whole JW experience.I love this Millie, it mirrors the way I think about life.

Hell Exists
by Poppy520 inmany people of all denominations are beginning to believe that hell does not exist - but the bible supports the claim that it does.
examine this verse, one under nkjv and the other nwt:.
nkjv - matthew 25:46, "and these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.".

Xanthipe .........You're just being rude, straight up.
You think I'm being rude asking you why you're here as you've never been a JW and you seem to just want to preach at us. Wow if you think that's rude I don't think you're going to last very long. Saying you came here to find what JWs believe? I don't buy it, you haven't asked that at all.

I got out at thirty so was able to make up for lost time to a certain extent. I would love to have physically gone to university instead of getting a degree through distance learning. I would have liked to have had a more interesting career but I graduated in my forties with a young child so that made it difficult. Of course that was a happy thing because I'm so glad I had her.
Losing all my family and friends? What kind of friends ditch you because you have a different view to their religion. As for my siblings, they're still hanging on to that ridiculous pretence that after 28 years treating me like a leper it's because of their deep love for me. I am well out of a family like that, damaged, manipulative people who can't admit even to themselves that my leaving shook their belief system to the core and that's the only reason they want to pretend I'm dead.
Did it ruin my life, it didn't help that's for sure but in some respects it saved me from the abusive elements in my life I needed to ditch.

the title was total clickbait
I am by no means a Jehovah's Witness or a part of their cultSo you are here because........?
Many of us here have read more Bible translations, books discussing the Bible, religious history and religious comment than you will ever look at. Thanks but no thanks.

Greetings everyone! Newly signed up but not new to the site.
by GTSfromSY inmy (very fake) name is gabriel syme or gabe for short.
i have been lurking in the shadows for many years and i want to give all here a heartfelt thank you for all your indirect support.
this website, as well as youtube, and eventually reddit, were all key in me finally accepting the βtruthβ being not that at all.

The speed with which I exited!!
by joe134cd ini was just thinking at how quickly the process was from pimi - pimo - pomo.
i must of spent about 10 years trudging along in the organization very unhappily.
but from the initial stages of learning ttatt to physically walking out the door the process took about 18 months.

We moved congregations at the beginning of '88 and some time in the summer of that year we realised that the rot was right through the organization and not just a local thing. Partly it was seeing what another body of elders was like and partly finding CoC in the library. We Da'ed in February the following year. We'd never even heard the term fading, there was no internet.
I'm not saying it's right for everyone but it was right for us, we were suffering badly in that religion. We couldn't have taken much more. It sounds dramatic I know but we barely escaped with our sanity. Now, although in the past I've had some doubts about the way we left because I lost my entire family, I know we did the right thing, for us. We never looked back, just moved forwards and although it was very hard work it was worth it.

What if the crucifixion never took place..
by Jayk ini googled it and pretty much my understanding is the same as what i imagine.
no one really knows, your guess is as good as the next.
interesting thought to consider imo..

What if the crucifixion never took place?
The Romans crucified many hundreds, possibly thousands of people to strike terror into their enemies. Why should the death of one Jewish preacher mean any more than all the rest, if it even happened.
