Disfellowshipped/disassociated – How did your parents handle it?

to those who were disfellowshipped/disassociated – how did your still-in parents handle it?.

i don’t want to fade, so i am thinking about disassociating soon – i don’t care if i’m playing by the org’s rules, i just want out.. however, i am concerned about how my parents will react.

i don’t want them to become super depressed or whatever due to me leaving the org.. i don’t want them to be hurt by my decision to leave the org, but i feel like there is no way of avoiding this..

My mother was very depressed about me DAing but then my mother was depressed her whole life. Nothing I said or did ever helped her. She wouldn't get professional help. She reacted by shunning me and having nothing to do with the child I had six years later. My daughter could have brought her so much joy. She was dying in hospital the only time she asked after my daughter, who wasn't there, she was at a birthday party.

So be aware if you DA your JW parents may shun you until they die. Sorry to be so blunt but it needs some serious thought. For me there was no choice.

Yes I would have gone for weasel words too but wiki says that weasel words are a type of tergiversate word. It's a new one on me.

Happy are the meek for they shall inherit the earth. A good teaching? You have to be strong not meek in this world. Turn the other cheek? Well aside from the fact nobody has a clue what this really means, allowing people to walk all over you as it is sometimes interpreted is stupid. I lived by this creed of be kind, meek, gentle and I did it on the planet of the apes for thirty years. Beaten to a pulp mate. Sheer stupidity.

hey its me if any one remembers me,i just wanted to post saying that ive been doing well.right now im just trying to live life and have some fun while im still a kid.it still sucks to have to go to meetings etc.. like the title i wanted to say thanks for the people that helped me when i was posting a lot.i might post some times but not as much as i used to..

I find May's reaction surprising given that very little happened when Alexander Litvinenko was murdered in the UK in 2006. I don't remember any diplomats being thrown out of the country. Is this just the reaction of a PM with a different personality or have Anglo/Russian relations changed drastically?
