Maybe you need to look at holidays where you can spend time with wild animals? I know there are companies that arrange these kind of trips. I've seen one where you can see gorillas in Rwanda.

Why I wanted to Live in the New System so much.
by exwhyzee inas a kid i didn't care about living forever since getting old and dying was a far away and an uncomprehendable eventuality.
i wanted to be around, near and with wild animals...all animals and to this day, i wish somehow they could be a part of my life.
when i see stuff like this, i still hope somehow it will be a reality someday.

Do you feel guilty?
by new hope and happiness ini have recently been having a feeling of guilt for having escaped the w.t while so many friends and family remain trapped.. has anyone else ever had similar feelings?.

Just a thought New Hope, guilt is a symptom of depression. Maybe you of feeling a little depressed because of losing your faith? It could be leaving your friends behind in the borg as you say but just watch out for guilt feelings. In depression the guilt comes first, it is a result of brain chemicals being out of balance, often caused by extreme stress. Then we look for a reason for the guilt. Just a thought....

Suspicious
by Suspicious ini guess i'm new here.
born in and an ms. things just hasn't been making sense the more i think about it.
i'm starting to get suspicious.

What also doesn't make sense is no jw listens to everything the gb say. Many watch "violent" movies. Jw claim to be no part of the world but fully support forms of entertainment produced by cold hearted selfish puppets of the Devil?
Hi Suspicious. The desire to belong to a group is very strong in human beings. Even if the individuals don't agree with everything the group believes in it's great to be 'where everybody knows your name'. Very hard to leave a group like that.

Narcissistic personality disorder
by Xanthippe inso i was having lunch with my inlaws and my fil was sounding off as usual about the economy, scottish devolution, the shortcomings of county councils etc etc.
he said to me well don't you think that (whatever it was) would be a better way of doing things ( in other words - his way ) myself, being extremely relaxed - in vino veritas - said no i think it's narcissistic personality disorder.. note to self really shouldn't drink so much when talking to fil, but it is my birthday.. he said what's narcissistic personality disorder.
so i explained to him about narcissus in greek mythology, the youth who looked into a pool, saw his own reflection and fell in love with himself.

Thanks for your thoughts and birthday wishes guys.
Yes I don't think it did him any favours being an elder for many years, especially with his personality type. Being a big fish in a very small pond.

He said what's narcissistic personality disorder. So I explained to him about narcissus in Greek mythology, the youth who looked into a pool, saw his own reflection and fell in love with himself. Narcissists are generally very egotistical and feel the whole world revolves around them or the system should adapt to their needs, I said.. (Yes I will pay for this!) So he googled it on his lap top and decided from the blurb on Wiki that half the population are being described there and that he is quite normal.
My MIL pipes up, I really don't think he knows which kind of daffodil you mean, dear.
I know, you had to be there, I guess......... but he can be so annoying!

Oh no, we can have 5 star steak
Treat us like Kings, don't stumbleReminds me of when I was pioneering and got persuaded by the elders to have the CO and DO and wives round for lunch. We didn't have two pennies to rub together so we gave them cottage pie made with TVP, textured vegetable protein. When they found out they were livid. They didn't put it into words but the inference was why are you giving us this rubbish when we are so special.

In a polite way i came to see the congregation as a pack of wolves.
Welcome Mike. Yes when people are oppressed they start to oppress one another. I remember how hard it was to be around people like that day in day out, biting and tearing at one another. What I found was that in the 'world' you will get the odd one like this, perhaps in a work situation, but unlike in the WTS it won't be everyone. You will meet some really decent people out in the real world, who will stick by you no matter what. At least your shattered faith in people will be renewed, but it will take time. Hang in there

LOL Julia, if only anything in that religion could have fed my spirit. Instead of which it broke my spirit. Now I'm off on holiday tomorrow to feed my spirit with sunshine, beautiful scenery, good food and wine!
