Do you consider this site Godly or Ungodly

over the years, i have seen a change in heart with the country i grew up in and the general view of what they perceive as how everyone should view things in relation to morality.

a strictly religious country for centuries now forever changed within a short number of years.

i have also seen the viewpoint on this site gradually change in many ways.

Truthexplorer you really need to grow up and see the world realistically. Stop seeing it as just a mass of people but rather as individuals struggling to survive and be happy. There are some evil people who are hurting others we can't deny that. The vast majority of people are busy caring for their families and many still find time to send money to strangers to help them work their way out of the poverty they were born into or to give aid when there are terrible disasters.

If by liberalism and lack of morality you are talking about people being allowed to live with the person they love without being beaten, imprissoned or subjected to chemical castration then thank goodness the world is growing up and understanding that we are not all the same.

Nobody is coming to help us. At the risk of sounding cliche, we are the people we have been waiting for. We need to work out how we as an individual, as families, as nations and as corporations we can make a better world. Grow up and stop sucking on that teat of comforting religious promises, look around at this beautiful, terrifying world, learn to live in it and work out how you can help.

in my area, a lot of the young jws, especially girls are getting breast implants, nose jobs, chin implants.

asian jws girls get eyelid surgery, and one girl even got her legs lengthen 5 inches making her about five feet nine inches tall the male jws are getting hair transplants and nose jobs.

and nobody in the congregation says a word, including elders.

Why did Jesus come to earth? Invite to a DC

i just had an invite to a district convention later this month in calgary (i guess they get to clean up the saddledome before the stampede, lol).. they gave me a leaflet asking "why did jesus come to earth?

" so i asked them "so why did he come?".

"well, he came to save us".

Apparently the DC is all about Jesus, his life and has interviews and demonstrations that will feature practical ways to imitate Jesus today.

Practical ways to imitate Jesus? Serve yourself up as a sacrifice, your whole life, particularly your money. BTDTGTTS.

Why would anyone want to join jovie world?

i can understand why someone who was born of jovie parents would want to leave jovie world.

i can see why someone who had joined jovie world would want to leave.

after all, why would you want to stay in such an evil institution?.

Lack of education is the reason people join as adults in the UK and U.S. This is why my mother joined. In developing countries, poverty and lack of education. I hear JWs are having a lot of success in poor countries, the new Rice Christians. No free food yet but a land flowing with milk and honey any day .........

i'm writing this here because i need someone to talk to, and you're the only folks i know who will understand.

most of the time i think i'm a pretty happy and together person, but lately, i'll see something that reminds me of my family and i'll spontaneously start crying.

i miss them so much and my heart keeps breaking, and even though i have kind people i work and volunteer with, i feel so incredibly lonely sometimes.

Miss Behaving I'm sorry you're having a bad day. Don't get freaked out by your feelings I feel like that sometimes, very lonely and wonder what's it all about. Many of us do I'm sure. What gives meaning and joy to my life? I love travelling, gardening and I'm trying to learn to paint. There are so many places I haven't seen yet and I want to grow more roses and try growing some different vegetables. Creativity is hard work when you feel down but sometimes I try doing little watercolour sketches in my garden. Not huge ones, just a few minutes for fun. Sorry I must go to work now but think of all the people who care about you, at your job and your volunteering, they would miss you if you weren't there. Take care🌷🌼🌹🌻🌼🌷🌻🌹

please take pity on me someone and help.. i was going to say that i suffer from aspergers syndrome but actually, i've come to rather enjoy it.. no, seriously, i really do have aspergers which is why my posts may seem a little odd to some of you.

ok, they may seem bloody odd to most of you.. my world exists in a binary frame.

things are or they are not.. i know that in the "real world" things might be or might not be as well as are and are not.

There wasn't an 'Afterlife' for the rich and one for the poor nor was there one for the good and another for the bad. Yes the classical pagans had many gods and goddesses who were created in man's image, fallible and they liked to party. They also believed everyone went to the afterlife. Christianity came along with its hatred of fun, sex and alcohol, 'bad' people went to hell and you had to jump through multiple hoops for your eternal reward.

Visiting the Pantheon in Rome last year I was frustrated that beautiful goddesses with flowing robes and gods like Bacchus with grapes for hair and the ubiquitous goblet of wine had been replaced with saintly Christian statues.

Ancient pagans had more fun and didn't hate their humanity. As you said they didn't fear death, it was a natural part of life. The Christians were taught to fear death because they feared judgement.

When I realised I was going to get old and die I thought I'm thirty, going on the three score and ten thing, I've got forty years to live. I stopped washing my face with soap 😀

Seriously I just wanted to get out of the poverty trap we were left in after pioneering for ten years. Did a degree, got a job, bought a house, had a child. Damned hard work but worth it. Yes we didn't cope well for the first two years, did a lot of falling apart, but it gets better I promise you.

Scully I wanted to like your post five times over. I wholeheartedly agree that I couldn't have anything to do with that religion now because of its treatment of women. I couldn't allow my daughter to grow up believing that women are second class citizens. I can't tolerate sexism anymore and I'm certain my daughter wouldn't.

My comment was just a general one to highlight the fact that the 'proof' for the existence of jesus is nowhere near as strong as people think. In fact, its a bit flimsy, even at best.

Yes I agree very flimsy indeed.
