Really interesting reviews, thanks for sharing. Shocking that 'John V' who was a JW for sixty years says he and his wife shunned two daughters at age sixteen for ten years. Sad story but it shows anyone can eventually see TTATT and leave. Hope they're reunited with their daughters now.

Apostasy Reviews on Rotten Tomatoes ... Spot the JW LOL!
by Exelder inon rotten tomatoes, apostasy has 100% success from critics (very rarely that critics are unanimous in their approval of a film) and 97% from the audience.
i have loved reading the reviews as they are almost all ex jw's but there is one glaring review that is almost certainly from one active jw who is pleading that the film be banned, even though they haven't actually seen it (typical) and it made me laugh:.

Congratulation! What's next? That depends on your circumstances of course. I'm glad you're excited for life again and enjoying the unknown. The acceptance of uncertainty is the key to enjoying life.

If You Told A JW That His Religion Was “False Religion “ What Would Be His Response?
by minimus inwitnesses are used to saying that every other religion but their own makes up “false religion “....how would a devout witness handle being labeled as a member of a false religion??
?.

I'd actually like to try that Minimus, tell a JW his religion is false with reference to Deuteronomy 18:22. False prophets whose prophecies fail should be ignored.

Were You Close To Your Non JW Family?
by minimus ini was thinking of how little i know about my father’s side of the family.
i recently inquired about ancestry.com and i’ve come to the realization that even the closest sides of my family via my father, are unknown to me .
what a shame that jehovah’s witnesses kept us apart.

No apart from my maternal Grandmother we didn't really know them even though I can remember them dropping presents off at Xmas when I was small. Ten years after we left I met my first cousin at a funeral and she said when you visit your mother drop in and see us.
She lived in the same village as my parents but I just couldn't find the words to tell her my mother was shunning us and we didn't see her. But within the next year I managed to get hold of her phone number and we've been in touch ever since.
Years later after my parents were gone my cousin showed me photos of my mum at her brother's house at Christmas. Apparently they regularly went there for Christmas while she was a JW after we'd all left home. Just so weird when we were shunned for leaving the cult. Anyway I hope she enjoyed herself and found some joy there.
My cousin has often said she can't understand why my mother could talk to her who's never been a JW but she shunned me. I try to explain to her how cults keep the members away from those who've left but it just seems weird to her.

The Trinity explained from the Whiteboard
by JW Answers ina lot of people are confused over the teaching of the trinity, some doubt it, some outright deny it, where some can't get their head around it.
the bible supports it through scriptural evidence.
this video explains from the whiteboard the difference between the god of the watchtower to the god in the bible.

The curious case of Oliver Cromwell's head
by LoveUniHateExams injust been reading a bit about oliver cromwell on wiki, plus i watched a documentary on youtube.. cromwell fought against king charles the first and the royalists in the 17th century.
king charles lost the civil war and was beheaded in 1649. after this, england was without a monarch and cromwell became lord protector of the commonwealth.
cromwell died in 1658 and was embalmed and buried in westminster abbey.

In 1644 Cromwell passed an act of Parliament banning the celebration of Christmas. To the puritans dancing and enjoying festivities at Christmas was abhorrent. Remind you of anyone?

I’m Sending You My Thoughts and Prayers
by minimus inhow many people here can sincerely say those words to someone?
i take it most here do not say prayers, right?
?.

I dunno I think I'd like someone to phone me or send me a text if I'm struggling rather than say they'll pray for me. If they're sending me good thoughts why not put that thought into action and pick up the phone.
If I'm concerned about someone I ask what I can do and I mean it. Just let people know you're thinking good thoughts about them by talking to them.

JW-RUSSIA.org cross image
by neat blue dog ini was just browsing the russian jw site and saw this image that appears to represent christian persecution by showing handcuffs in front of prison bars that appear to form a cross.
which would be weird because they don't even believe in the cross, or maybe it was clip art from another source and they didn't notice.
or last and most likely i'm seeing things that aren't there 😜.
