ironically, the religion and publisher of this statement is one of the biggest offenders with their shunning policy of its members who come to the conclusion that their form of worship is unacceptable.. for some, this severe shunning is too much to bear.. ...help me through this my old friends...i really did not want to be dfd!...i am fourth generation....i had already been shunned by my lifelong friends due to my outspoken words regarding my discovering we had changed the bible to make it say what jw's want it to...but now i have lost my family....oomps.

What did you do with all your old publications?
by Dark Fader inso we had spent years building our "theocratic library" of bound volumes, books and other materials.
personally, i boxed everything, taped the boxes closed and threw them in a dumpster at a construction site.. i did actually feel bad though.
that was a lot of paper which could have been recycled!.

Service meeting topic: Masturbation
by perfect1 inone of my strangest memories of going to the kh was when a young- maybe 18-20, pimply young man got up to talk about jhvhs view of masturbation during a service meeting.. of course, it was impossible to think about him not masturbating.
i was just hitting puberty and found the whole thing very uncomfortable- i think my dad was even critiquing him (what is that called when elder gives the feedback).
looking back now i can see that to publicly condemn masturbation, especially when a young man is delivering this admonition, is- well- hilarious.

Around the same time as the masturbation talk- I came up to my mother and she was talking to a friend of hers about sex- after the meeting in the KH! I remember making a face and the friend saying, Honey, its a beautiful thing when youre married.
This thoroughly grossed me out, not to mention confused me since sex is pornea, fornication, harlots, etc.

Jwfacts, Why Do You Equate Miracles With Magic?

as i was reading the sparlock article, i couldn't help but notice something seriously wrong:.
"the bible abounds in vivid fantasy, such as its many celestial descriptions, or the portrayal of warring kingdoms with imaginary beasts.. the sparlock message is confusing, as much for an adult as for a child, as the bible shows that god's followers practice magic, even if they are usually referred to as miracles.

From an anthropologic, athiestic point of view I would say miracles happen without any effort of the involved party, whereas magic involved a series of exhanges with real or imagined other beings or forces to produce a desired outcome. Magic has structure, costs, returns, and etiquette all activated by participants, while miracles maybe prayed for, they do not have the same economy as magic. A miracle is a free lunch.

(meaning i do not wish it to be used on trying to turn people athiest, i respect everyone's choices, i just believe and would hate my help to do what i feel is wrong) it might help fix things, or if you are still wondering how to awaken them without scaring them and being instantly shunned.
