Fading quietly has worked for a lot of jws who have family that they didn't want to lose. Its harder to do than making a stand and getting dffed. Whatever you do, don't rush into it.

my name may be a bit premature...because i'm actually still active within the org, but i guess you could say i've already "left" in my heart.
i'm just scared to take the first steps, because i don't know any "ex's" in my neck of the woods, and i'm very scared of loosing my family.
i just need someone to talk to.. .

hubby and i are getting ready to start.
looking for some input, if you have any.
thanks!
Interesting that it helps your eye. The idea is that the 3 types of oil should be balanced as when we evolved to modern human. Our diets get enough omega 6 and 9, but not 3, cuz of lack of sun for the animals we eat and the food they eat. I calculated that 1 tblspoon of flax oil a day should balance it, for me.
Is it actually working? Hard to say. I am healthy, except for depression. I am active. I have been taking it fairly regularly for 2 or 3 yrs.

a little research makes it clear that embracing the 'concept' of religion and 'use' it to achieve an apotheosis state has long been the goal of man for countless ages.. i'm beginning to to feel that ct russell was perhaps no different.
apotheosis requires a very important element (universal in all religions) that not only 'validates' x version of a religion, but catapults its leader/s into the 'stratosphere'.
this element is a 'symbol', an object or thing connecting the leader here on earth with x god in heaven.
Any seeker or religion that looks for a god 'out there' is bound for folly. Instead of looking at the physical, the pyramids, rusell would have been better off examening ancient egyptian theology. Joseph campbell is a much better example of a seeker. Campbell didn't start a stupid religion, either.

i agreed, if only because i want to see my friend of many years.
the 'heavy' is a large, imposing man with a booming voice and is a creature of the gb through and thru (eg only visited his dfd dad on his death bed because it was a 'good witness' to the hospital staff) and i'm feeling stressed about seeing him.
i so badly wanted to see my friend though, i agreed without thinking and now wish i hadn't have.
You could always phone your friend back and cancel. Of course, she would not see how that was possible, so you would need a good excuse. It IS your house, and you can decide who can enter it. You could say that you only really wanted to see your friend, and so, she is welcome, but the heavy is not. Tough cookies for the heavy. But, he is a big boy, afterall.

Omg. My brother did the same on me. It was some jw who had been missionary in some 4th world country, piosneer and whatever. I to agreed. Got an instant migraine. In the encounter, the heavy concluded it was hopeless and left fairly quickly. I don't remember the conversation. Good luck. Just try to saty cool. You are in the right. He will likely fly off the handle. That will just prove that you are right.

in 2 timothy 3:8, we encounter an enigmatic verse: "men like this defy the truth just as jannes and jambres defied moses.
" these names do not occur in the ot but they are widely attested in post-exilic jewish tradition as the magicians who competed against moses in performing miraculous signs and wonders.
according to the book of jannes and jambres, the two magicians were summoned by pharaoh separately:.

if you compare the immense majestic universe to a stable law- supported, immutable constitutional monarchy, or its non-royal equivalent,.
where do you and i fit in, balking one way or another( and for various reason) at.
the notion of the wt 8 representing that great entity?
I am detached from causes and movements and stuff, although i still have a few opinions.

told on me of course.
apparently, the other jw thought he was kidding.. i just said, you tell on me and take my family from me, we are done.
we will get a divorce and you will lose me, your home, and more then likely won't get to see your kids everyday the way you get to now.
I agree; religion shouldn't get between a husband and wife and their kids.

lots of proper pioneering (90 hours), lots of calls, lots of studies, lots of interest.
enough to make it all interesting.
driving this buzz was the sense that armageddon was imminent.. my father was never a jw, and was very opposed.
My wt life and exit was somewhat like yours. I was zealous, sincere, until i ran down, cuz wt philosophy just didn't work. Spent some time in no mans land. It all takes time, reading, thinking, talking. This site is a good place to help you to work things out faster. Welcome.

in the watchtower study article for last week, june 3rd - 9th, 2013, the congregation was asked the question, "is your teaching up-to-date?".
there was a box on the top of page 9 that asked three questions allowing everyone to test themselves and find out if they had "up-to-date" and "accurate knowledge" in keeping with the "the ever-increasing light" as revealed through the pages of the watchtower magazine and related publications.
now at first blush this all sounds really good, but is it?
Wt truth morphs (evolves?) faster than alien larvae. Its metamorphic truth.
