How can we know if a spirit world exists?
by sleepy inthe only way we as humans can examine the universe is through our brains.. theres nothing we can do about it.
all senses and experiences are taken in by or bodies and interpreted in our minds.
we can not know of anything that our minds can't take in.. for example if we were all blind and no humans had eyes and the part of the brain that interprets vision we would have no concept of seeing or even the existence of light.. this creates a problem, how can we know whether things exist outside of our senses.

What you describe is shamanism, or at least the same as what shamans do. It is a universal aboriginal phenomenon; siberia, asia, europe, africa, north and south america. It seems to develop naturally in indiginous peoples. When civilization becomes more sophisticated, it dies out.
It sounds like an interesting book.

Any suggestions on a Bible and a Bible commentary?
by DB ini currently use the new world translation of the holy scriptures, and it seems to be a pretty good bible.
but i am looking for a good, modern-english version with which to do some comparison reading.
plus, i am looking for a good bible commentary for research.

Some one broke in my house yesterday
by rhett inthere's this guy who i used to be friends with who thought that the only reason my kids loved me was because i rewarded them.
of course, i had to prove him wrong.
last friday i heard him talking to some people that he was going to break into my house and kill a few of my kids as well as trash the house.

the first tells us that the son of man is "sitting down" ... and that then a "separating" work begins.
then in daniel 12:1 it tells us that when michael "stands up" a great time of trouble ensues.. do you think it's possible he is not yet "standing up?

they wont leave me alone!
by zanex ini have a problem..i have been df'd for like 6 or 7 years i lose count but point is my parents are still stuck in the alternate dimension called jw and they seem to think that there is still a "chance" for me.
lol..funny shit i think but anyway, the town i live in just happens to house some of my friggin elder pop's elder friends...like i thought when i got df'd that meant they would leave me alone but now that i have a wife and kid that arent jw related at all my parents seem to think that my wife will "convert" i trust my wife better than that and i know that there is no way that she would ever do that..she is as cynical as i am..my prob is that they have infiltrated me at my work and i dont want to have to be an asshole about it but i just need them to leave me be...anybody got any ideas on things i can do shy of buying a fully automatic weapon and perching myself on my front doorstep?
anyway..i can hear the psychiatrist callin my name...lol..

I would suggest slowly giving a balanced education to your immediate family about the wt. I think it would be like innoculating them against the jw machinations. It's hard to explain the jw mindframe to an outsider, but it's something anyway.

There may be some confusion here btween rand cam corp and rand corp. From memory, rand corp is an american mega behemeth, rand cam corp is a smaller company, on the west coast, maybe in vancouver.
