  Example of Brainwashing Proves WTS Is A Cult!

  after reading puppylove's post, "a sad example of jw brainwashing /twisted thinking", and hearing very familiar comments, i have decided to relate an experience i had a few days ago, which i am leary to relate since the key factor severely limits the jw population of "possibles".

  (details are purposefully sketchy to protect my identity.

  a jw, who usually avoids me like the plague, placed themself in a position of being alone with me for a few hours due to their greedy desire to obtain something free.

  We know that in wt dogma, the sin against or denial of gods spirit is defined as unforgivable. In 2 or 3 of his books, j f rutherford said that since the coming of jesus, the office of the holy spirit ceased to be. All its functions were replaced by jesus, after his coming. Thus he denied its action on himself. I photocopied these pages and showed them to my brother, sister and mother, reminding them of what the unforgivable sin was. I guess they were overloaded, and have likely erased from their memories by now.

  I've lost my faith, and I'm not sure that's bad.

  i've tried in the last few months to rely on my faith in god to carry me through the bad hand that life has dealt me, and for the most part i have managed to carry on with my sanity in order.

  i do however have one question that i can't answer and therefore wish to ask you all if you have any clue as to the answer.. the love of my life died and the only consistant reason i get from my reading of the sciprture and my conversations with "religious" persons is that god had a higher purpose for calling my love to heaven.

  this only begs of me to ask the question, if the lifestyle my love was leading was so adverse to god's commandments, then why would he want to call him to a higher purpose?

  I think that kind of talk is just a cover for the inability to answer your question. Do i have an answer for you? Not really, although i do have a belief in afterlife. I don't believe in 'heaven and hell'. My opinion is the spirit is free to go where it desires. But that's just an opinion. I would suggest you telephone the top men available within your own faith, then others such as catholic, hasidic jew, buddhist, hindu, unitarian and others in your area. It would likely broaden your mind to possibilities.

  What about floppy disks, cds and zip discs? Could a demen write itself onto those? Would one have to throw everything out? Have any chritians thought of writing an exorcism program that would have the power of jesus in it, that could clear out these demenz? Maybe a few key bible passages in the different directories would keep them out.

  in recent years show that watchtower was letting itself be told what do by the purple beast, namely, promote the united nations in its writings.

  i can understand how many might quickly find support for this claim, for there are, indeed, many articles in awake!

  The wt associating itself w the un dpi is THE issue. If you read the wt quotes on the other threads, this should be clear. When i was a kid, i was taught that saluting thr flag was an act of worship to an idol, a false god called the flag. This worship went ultimately to satan. I was forbidden to recite the lords prayer w all the other kids because the wt considered it an act of religious sharing w false satanic religions. I suffered a lot for those stands i took as a kid. You don't know how hard the ridicule, ostracism and sometimes physical abuse that i went through was on me. Looking back, those were such silly things for the wt to make an issue about, yet i lived by wt doctrines. Forming a un assiation is worse than these two issues i mentioned, yet it was done voluntarily by the top leadership. Such a small thing, yet such a huge renunciation of thier own teachings/ideals/alliegence.

  How can we know if a spirit world exists?

  the only way we as humans can examine the universe is through our brains.. theres nothing we can do about it.

  all senses and experiences are taken in by or bodies and interpreted in our minds.

  we can not know of anything that our minds can't take in.. for example if we were all blind and no humans had eyes and the part of the brain that interprets vision we would have no concept of seeing or even the existence of light.. this creates a problem, how can we know whether things exist outside of our senses.
