  New a good term instead of born-again

  i have been associated with many religious groups over the years, mainly the catholics, jehovah's witnesses, and various evangelical born-again groups.. i often use the term born-again on this forum.

  i normally mean born-again in reference to evangelical born-again groups, "fundies", etc.. a couple of posters here have told me that they find the way i used the term born-again offensive.

  they rightly tell me that most christians believe that they are born-again...hence, my comments offend them.. so, folks, can we come up with a more accurate term?

  as far as i knew at that time my dad had no affiliation.

  The wt has a child custody kit, where they basically tell the jw mate how to lie so he/she can win the kids. It is on the net.

  Do you at least get good visitation?

  Define spirituality

  define spirituality if you can.. what does the society mean when they talk of being spiritual?.

  all i could figure out is just someone who follows the rules.. so if there is no god is spirituality meaning less or something still desirable?

  If there is no god, or if god isn't spirit, if there is no such thing as spirit, then spirituality would be meaningless. There could be a situation such as there being spirits, but not god.

  I would say spirituality is a study or involvement/interaction w anything of a spiritual nature. Spiritual nature would of necessity have to be of or pertaining to spirit entities. This would exclude such things as wt mags, bibles, king halls etc. The wt is hardly spiritual. If a jw did anything of a spiritual nature (other than praying to jehovah), such as talking/hearing(claireaudience)/seeing(clairevoyance)/travelling(astral travelling) w angels, doing out of body type actions in the spirit realm w their spirit bodies, they would be labeled as demonized and subsequently dfed. This is rather strange since there are many persons inthe bible who had/did/saw unexplained/strange spiritual type things. The wt claims to be the end all and be all of anything of any importance in the bible. Jesus said his followers would do things such as heal the sick, raise the dead, expel demons, drink poison without damage, walk on water, make mountains fly through the air; all actions that would be considered of a spiritual nature. Yet wt reps cannot even expel a little demon who supposedly haunts a piece of used furniture. Jws are in deathly fear of demons, never mind the devil himself. All in all, i would say jws are, next to atheists, the smallest spiritual wimps on the face of the earth.

  Another possible solution is to flush the whole god/devil/genesis conundrum down the toilet. It's admirable trying to unravel it as you are, but it is really mental calisthenics to overcome the impossibly large contradictions. If you do the above suggested, you will find other theories that give more satisfactory answers, not perfect, but better, IMHO. There are other paradigms to check out.

  Galaxies, rather than stars!

  i suppose that if i were an avid reader of the various astronomy magazines available i'd have more of an understanding about this.

  for quite some time i've wondered how astronomers must calculate that there are so many galaxies (although obviously they don't know the precise number).

  i figure that it apparently has to do with first determining that certain points of light, visible through telescopes, are farther out than our own "milky way" galaxy.

  ok,...this is no sales pitch, but i've found a way of loosing excess weight and getting muscle definition... all in only 2 months.. i lost 22kg in 2 months,...seriously and i eat like a king.. want to know more????....

  The eagle nebula
  
  I find this particularly interesting, because this nebula is actually an unimaginably large hydrogen gas cloud. This cloud is actually making, creating, if you will stars. Yes, stars are being created before our eyes.

  Stars are created from hydrogen gas cloud, hydrogen being the lightest element. Within itself, a star fuses the hydrogen atoms to produce heavier/bigger atoms: helium and down the spectrum to carbon, etc. Stars are the factories of standard matter. What we are made of came from star cores, friday.
