one other major problem with the ark apart from the question of animal size is the methane that the animal waste would have produced. The amount of animal waste, both solid and liquid must have been huge. Unless there had been advanced waste and gas disposal systems built into the ark how could have Noah and his small family kept the ark afloat with all the extra waste weight never mind from exploding from all the methane. I can only presume light inside the ark was by naked flame and even if the flame was within a lantern methane would have got in somehow. Naturaly occuring static electricity would also have caused an explosion. Anybody been to the zoo and seen even one elephant urinating? never mind a whole ark load of different kinds of animals. Once you start thinking about it the problems are huge. Thats just the waste never mind the storage space that would have been required for the food for all these animals. Its reasonable to presume that these animals were not all packed tightly together like sardines in a tin and that they would have had space to lay down in at least.

"The Ark Before Noah"
by Doug Mason inas well as providing new archaeological information, the book "the ark before noah: decoding the story of the flood" by irving finkel (published 2014) provides material for those of us who are interested in the neo-babylonian period.
for example, one subheading is: "why were the judeans in babylon?
" (page 226).. dr irving finkel is assistant keeper of ancient mesopotamian script, languages, and cultures at the british museum.

maybe thats the date that they all have to have thier 'go bags' packed and ready for so they can head for the hills................then the world will know.
Then when 08.02.14 comes and goes, they will say, 'oh well you all took it the wrong way and you were expecting too much' and 'one of the other GB said something on his own and it was'nt said in unison with the rest of us'.................

Rules on blood also apply to our pets
by Splash inwhile researching something else, i came across these two comments from a wt on how we should view the blood issue, when it comes to our pets.. *** w64 2/15 p. 127 questions from readers ***.
"would it be a violation of the scriptures for a christian to permit a veterinarian to give blood transfusions to a pet?
by all means, to do so would be a violation of the scriptures.".

if we had any friends came to visit, we would need to let then know that the cat had been disfellowshipped and they wernt to pat it and same taking a disfellowshipped dog for a walk. I was thinking about a standard fertiliser thats used,( i expect probably world wide) blood fish and bonemeal. wonder how many folk have eaten something that has been fertilised with that, maybe better disfellowship everyone ............... just a minute, didnt God create leaches? wonder if leaches will be allowed in the new system? seriously, if you look up how many living creatures live off other creatures blood youl be surprised how many there are. It seems that God has created a lot of creatures that feed off other creatures blood.............you can see how far this thing goes................ maybe there is a readers question about it somewhere that we all missed.......'Dear Governing Body, why has God created creatures that live off other creatures blood?' ...

org is dying
by lambsbottom ini don't understand why so many ex jws and faders think that the jws will continue to grow and thrive as a religion.
i still attend a meeting once a week and you can smell the death of the religion creeping up when you hear the talks, read the study wts and hear the letters from the gb.
the way the organization has changed is a sign that it reached its peak (in "healthy" membership) long ago.

Its an organisation that is based on its own theology that is so far off what the bible really teaches. Anybody can see the changes that Fred Franz and the others made to the New Testament in an effort to create a bible version that would support watchtower theology if they carefully work through the interlinear bible of 1979 and 1985. That was the reason the NWT came about, there was no bible that would back up WT theology and they needed one that did. The major problem that the WT has is the warning at the end of Revelation that is quite clear about adding or changing anything. Although witnesses all claim that the society is 'mushrooming' , in reality, if anybody really looks into the figures and compares the increase of the worlds population compared to the increase in the watchtower since it began, it has actualy far from 'mushroomed'. Money is so very important to the society and yet was so very unimportant to Jesus. I never knew what the bible really taught until I read it on its own, it was then I realised that all I had learned most of my life was WT theology that was backed up by a 'doctored NWT'. As im often told by witnesses when I say to them that they follow men (GB) first and they always deny that and say the bible is the final authority. Well if that were really true I think that they should take heed of what Revelation clearly states what will happen to anyone who changes God's Word.

WT admitted "Jehovah" is not God's name...
by Watkins inif i remember right(unlikely, lol) it was a one-page article about the tetragrammaton which concluded by saying that even though "jehovah" was 'probably' not an accurate pronunciation, it is a widely-recognized and accepted english transliteration of the divine name.
i was thinking it was on the last page or maybe the back cover of a wt pub - maybe a watchtower.. can someone please direct me to the publication it was in?
i read it when i was still 'in' and it made me stop and think about how much emphasis the wt puts on that name, all while knowing it's not the name.

If you are able to find a first copy of the NWT (the one that came out in sections ) you will find info there about God's Name in the front of it. An experience I had recently when two witnesses visited me, I explained to them how Jehovah could not have been God's name , I showed them from the article in their own 'Aid to Bible Understanding' what it said there. 'They mentioned something like, 'oh we dont use that now' so therefore it couldnt 'be trusted'.. I also showed them other publications but of course 'as they were man's writings they couldnt be trusted'. Actualy, I honestly felt that If they could have, I would have been stoned for blasphemy there and then, how dare I say that and bring doubt to Gods name. A week or two later when they returned, one of them said to me 'Oh last time we were here you were asking about God's name) I asked myself If I was hearing correctly, what they did was to turn the previous conversation completely around . They were telling me now that nobody knew Gods true name and that Jehovah had been used over the years because that was the name that most people knew God by. Truely I could not believe I was hearing this from two long serving witnesses(40 plus years each) I then asked them that if I were to go back to meetings, (i was brought up in the 'Truth' but never baptised thank goodness), that it would be completely alright if I were to call God Yaweh or if out in the ministry I could introduce myself as one of Yahweh Witnesses? They looked at each other and muttered 'oh well. I suppose so' , ..... I wonder how long I would have lasted, ... not very long and that I know!

Have Jehovahs Witnesses Changed the Bible to Fit Their Beliefs

i understand what you mean designs about the original texts, but one of the things that totally amazed me when i began to look at all the information that was available about these texts,( there are many thousands in greek alone), the staggering thing about it for me was that the theology is the same throughout them all. Any group who changes that theology to thier own version has to be looked upon very suspiciously, to say the least.

YES!!! and it is very easy to show if you have the 1979 and 1985 interlinear NWT,, just like to add too, that if any other religous group had done that, the WT society would never let them forget it, or for that matter, any of the false predictions,..... oops, sorry, .......expectations, that have been made in the WT publications over the years, they would never let anyone forget those either.

Do you make your own soup?
by compound complex ingreetings, soup lovers:.
i have a huge kitchen at my disposal (not my own); vegetables, cans of this and that and spices are scattered about, prepared to go into a cauldron of minestrone i started a few days ago.
i'm preparing ahead so as to freeze the leftovers to heat up later at home over my hotplate.. nothing like a 6-burner gas range to simmer over!.

it would be a priviledge to be able to meet so many, knowing that everyone is here is such a great support in itself. I think its a great thing to be able to all meet up together . At least everybody has in here to 'meet up' and share experiences and support each other.

How I miss the 'Truth' of my youth....
by gingerbread inmy family moved from the city to the country.. part of the reason for the relocation was to move 'to where the need was greater'.
i loved our new home - i was free to roam the woods and fields, enjoy the wildlife, work in our garden and feed the chickens.
i had new friends in our new congregation.

I totaly agree Ginger, the JW's today have no idea what it was like back then in 'the good old days'. I mentioned this to a JW a few days ago and of course they answered with, ' the light gets brighter'. Watchtower theology has moved that far away from what the bible teaches, never mind what the society used to be like.
