  Hi Kagloo and WELCOME!

  I can understand your feeling of disloyalty. Believe me many of us have been there. You are coming to a point where I believe many 'thinking' witnesses come to at one point in their lives. The difference is that you seem to want to do something about it.

  I once believed that change was possible within the organization. I felt that by being a better elder that change would come, that somehow I could make a difference. I was mistaken. It is corrupt from the top down. It is like MegaDude said that those running the Society do not have any integrity.

  You have come to a crossroads in your life. You will be faced with many changes. Take them slow and be patient. May I reccommend reading Ray Franz's book's 'Crisis of Conscience' and 'In Search of Christian Freedom' if you have not read them already. Especially 'In Search of...' will really open your eyes to the organizaiton and everything you might have thought to be 'Truth'.

  Good luck and please come back. There are many here who are willing to help you on your quest.

  my wife and i were wathching fox news and they were talking about martha stewart's debacle, and low and behold there is mike commenting on how she is going to have to go from 9 houses to 8. anyway did not know we had a celebrity among us.... you did good mike.

  We want to know if you are who your picture portrays you are, the REAL Mike Musto... Obvioulsy you are a witness but are you Mike Musto or have you stolen his identity since there is alot of that going on...?

  Or maybe Mike you are having an identity crisis and you don't know who you are, well we can help, but we need more information otherwise our efforts are futile.

  do you know why the society says this?

  regardless of whether the meeting is for the purpose of shepherding, sharing bible advice,or simply giving encouragement, "she could develop romantic feelings for the elder.it is possible for an elder to develop improper feelings for a sister he is comforting or counseling.

  it is especially important never to meet with a sister alone when the sister being assisted has been a victim of abuse, suffers from depression,or for any other reason is in a delicate emotional state.a woman in such an emotional may be more vulnerable and may be prone to develop improper feelings toward an elder meeting with her.

  I agree with Highlander, this is not a bad policy. Many businesse's/company's adhere to this policy. So I don't see anything wrong with it. You hear of co-workers esp boss/worker relationships all the time and in fact it is prohibited in many companies.

  When I was and elder we were told of the exp. of a MS meeting alone with a sister in the 'back room'. He took it upon himself to counsel her on something, well she took offence and proceeded to rip off her blouse and went running out of the room and accused him of trying to make a move on her. Well subsequently he was delted. It was not until a couple of years later that she confessed to making it all up. But the damage had been done to his reputation not to mention the turmoil that it caused him and his family.

  It disgusts me to see the psycho's that are out there. Now that they have him, on a seperate rape charge nonetheless, what are they going to do with him? I am sure your human rights groups will now get involved to make sure his human rights are not violated. Of course, we would not want to do the same to him that he did to these little girls, heaven forbid.

  Believe me, I am all for human rights but when it comes to crimes of this nature and there is no doubt about it, then the guilty person should receive a swift death penalty IMO. The problem is that it gets caught up in the court system for years at tax payers expense and people in general forget about the crime. So when the times comes to do the deed there is an over abundance of sympathy for these ones that it often makes it hard to carry out the punishment. Hence we send out mixed messages to society.

  Dish out to him what he did to these little girls and send a message out to those psycho's that we are not playing games here.

  I am pretty sure he read this thread because I made reference to it on another thread he started and he has since responded to it, but funny, no mention or reference to his identity.

  So Mike who are you? Are you stealing someone else's identity? Is that really you in the picture you post? You should not have any problem admitting it since everyone then knows who you are. But if your not then that is another story, and everyone who has posted and read this thread would want to know. Many unanswered questions.

  Assuming you are the real Mike Musto and since you live in NYC why don't you join us for the march on Sep. 27th. Also since you are a media insider why don't you bring some of your media buddies with you to cover our march, bring Greta, Sean, and don't forget O'Reilly, I definitely want O'Reilly.

  Unfortunately things like this are bound to happen. But at the same time there are many fine people who post here who can be of help and encouragement. Find those ones who are and ignore those who are not. Glad to see you back.
