I have heard of the name "John Aquila Brown", and also that he was the first to come up with the "Seven Times" equals 2520 years nonsense.
Other than that, he is a complete mystery!
this is my first post.
i am a pimo who has been lurking for a while and i hope to make new friends here.. for now, i would just like to highlight that this year marks 200 years since john aquila brown wrote that crazy book(let) of speculations that charles taze russell practically copy/pasted into his "studies in the scriptures" which eventually affected all of our lives in one way or another.. cheers.
chevelle.

"raised in the truth" during the 50s, 60s,and 70s i repeatedly read and heard from the platform how reading the magazines weekly "was the equivalent of a college education" and how many had turned their family economic situation around by being "trustworthy" and giving up expensive bad habits most "worldly people" had.
sounded good.. what is the reality?
how does avoiding higher education, and then spending up to 20 hours a week getting ready for, commuting, and then participating in meetings and field service affect family finances?.
Joey jojo and road to nowhere,
Nothing like the good old "I've got mine but you cannot have yours" attitude!
“1975” still marks 6000 years from the creation of adam in wt calendar.
according to “all scriptures inspired” book, there is a gap between the creation of adam and the creation of eve and her marriage to adam.
it was at that point in time when eve was created that marked the end of the 6th creative day and the beginning of god’s rest, the 7th day as recorded in genesis.
The whole 6000 years business is based on OT chronology, which its writers (the Jews) would be quick to tell us was never intended to be interpreted literally.
How could one possibly be bent out of shape by a collection of myths intended only to be folklore? Might as well take as literal stories such as “Jack and the Beanstalk”. It would carry as much credibility, that’s for sure.
this has been announced on the jw's official website, in the "jw news" section.
this is not a joke.
anthony moron da turd is out as a gluttonous body member!
Bloody hell!
So much commentary based on precious little in the way of facts.
nicola sturgeon has resigned as snp leader for one reason or another.
nothing to do with her f**king up when she wanted to put a male rapist in a women's prison.
oh dear, how sad, missing you already .... .
Another case of “The camera does not lie”.
first new zealand's dictator resigned and now nicola sturgeon the first minister of scotland has announced her intention to go.. nobody is certain exactly what the trigger was but there are plenty of possibilities.
the final straw may have been her 'gender recognition' act that would have made it possible for anybody 16 and over to legally change their sex on a whim.
the vast majority of scots were opposed but she battered the legislation through holyrood regardless.
And to think, that back in the day, the mantra was firmly believed that "The Camera Does Not Lie"!

It would seem the term “dictator” has become a political swearword rather than an accurate description of anything much at all.
for those who still hold to the belief that the last 109 years have been part of "the time of the end", consider this: .

it would have been quite understandable if those alive during the middle of the 6th century ad believed the "end was nigh.".
It would seem that almost every generation has experienced its "Eve of Destruction" moment - as demonstrated by this video clip from 58 years ago:

Civilization was set back for almost a century and things were never the same again; with the Eastern Roman Empire by then set on an irreversible path of decline and eventual collapse.
