  what's the current jw stance on retirement savings?

  i know it changed.

  pre1975 it was an attitude of "don't worry about retirement, this system is ending soon".

  multiple very serious allegations against tony and then huge efforts to remove him from all pictures and videos, have to admit it doesn’t look good.. once the pennsylvania investigation becomes public knowledge and front page news it will be very very hard for 8 million pimis.. is it possible that this could be the largest problem the branch has ever faced?

  larger than 1975, the overlapping generations or any other ‘test of faith’.

  many will feel heartbroken and betrayed.

  the belief in the messiah, which has lived in the collective consciousness of humanity since ancient times, became completely obscured among the gentiles, and only remained with the jewish people, who were later chosen by god, as the prophecies of the prophets kept it alive.

  there was only one great promise in the old testament from god, which awaited fulfillment!

  only one great desire was there in the old testament on the part of man, longing for satisfaction.

  when i was serving as an elder, it because relatively common to hear of wild drunken house parties of witness youths.

  i investigated one, it was so bad that the cops turned up and found empty bottles of whiskey on the lawn and smashed out on the road.

  but every led went cold, with all the kids clamming up.

  i guess you could say jesus was the first christian, since he was the christ.

  and as the first christian, jesus spoke more about hell that any other biblical figure.

  but, he is also the figure that said that he didn't come to condemn the world, but to save it.

  Discontinued about the time the Elder arrangement came in.

  10 hours, one “bible study”, 12 magazines per month, so many books and so many “back calls” - or else you received The Pineapple.

  the twickenham post made me think of this.

  i have a few jw family members on facebook and being summertime, their pics of the convention have shown up in my fb feed.

  along with their comments about "i wished it would never end" or "what a glorious weekend".

  The time I most looked forward to was when the bloody thing was over and done with!

  (Apart from the 1973 Divine Victory International Assembly, when I fell in love for the very first time. That did add a bit of gloss to it).
