I think the term "Religioned Out" best describes many who leave the JWs.
That is certainly how I felt after I finally managed to break free from that bloody lot!
i have been on m any different forums, and only carm is similar to this.. all the rest have rather hypocritical trust in god.. this and carm are for those who apostate to the wtbs and to god.. turned off by the gb, or hypocritical examples in the congregation, they drop worshiping god and their belief in the bible... for they know too much,.
that's why scripture isn't discussed, and jws like me, are demonized.. i am cool with that!
maybe some of you will come to their senses!.

absolute worst case scenario, the last of the generation that saw the events of 1914 would have died off would be in the mid to late 1990's!
so we were told in the 1980's!
so now we 3/4 of another generation past that!.
To put things in perspective, CT Russell used Pyramidology to back up the whacky ideas that he had already concocted. Incredible as it may now seem to us, there was a time when Pyramidology was taken very seriously, rather then viewed as the pseudo-science that it really is.
yes i was there.. when we were all told.. 1975 is the time.
i was new to the jw thing but i knew then "that no man knoweth the day nor the hour....".. https://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/5647286362177536/1975-on.
It wasn’t only the JWs who made an issue out of 1975. Herbert W Armstrong, of the Worldwide Church of God, also had much to say about that date, to the point of circulating a booklet entitled 1975 in Prophecy - a copy of which may be viewed through the following link www.hwalibrary.com/booklets/1975inProphecy
Of course, his predictions were no more accurate than anybody else’s!

What if they were to tell you it’d be next year?
I would ask politely for a drag on one of the same type of cigarettes that he/she has been smoking!
i often found that there were some real dimwits that thought they were marvellous.
a sort of dunning kruger spectrum going on.. donkeys leading princes.
just like our corrupt and retarded politicians.
We had a whippersnapper who got appointed as an elder - an appointment that went completely to his head, leaving him with delusions of grandeur. He thought that the fact he was an elder automatically meant that he knew more about every possible subject than those of us who weren’t. Trouble was, what he really knew about most things could have been written on the back of a postage stamp!

What was written about 1975 certainly left the thought hanging there, and made plain what conclusion the WTS wanted its readers to draw from it.
Often, though, what was said from the platform made an even stronger impression; one such example, of course, being that 1967 talk by Charles Sinutko. (Another was one of the concluding talks at a Circuit Assembly from late in 1974. In that, the District Overseer finished by confidently declaring "We still stand by our date of 1975!" ).
a friend says the wt gives a substantial sum to retiring cos. he says one bought land and built near him, a desirable rural area.
i think it must have been saved green handshake money or inherited.. btw this man also thinks the gb are the smartest men alive..
All I know is that of the congregations I was with, the CO would have received little if anything in the way of a “green handshake”. Nobody had the proverbial “two bob to rub together”, let alone to lavish the Circuit Overseer with gifts of cash.
the main reason most got the vaccine was to protect others.
now they’re being told they can spread it just as easily as the unvaccinated.
quotes;.
30 years ago, when my family and I first went to live in a malaria-prone area, we religiously took as a prophylactic the recommended weekly dosage of two Chloroquine tablets. From that experience, I would not exactly describe either Chloroquine or its more soluble and slightly less toxic variant, Hydroxychloroquine, as "candy".
Yuk !!!
Even back then, Chloroquine was rapidly losing its effectiveness as an anti-malarial medicine. So much so that after about 12 months, we abandoned the practice of taking regular doses of the stuff (particularly after the Director of Malaria Control himself stated that the best protection against the disease was to avoid being bitten by mosquitoes).
There are now very, very few malaria-affected parts of the world left in which Chloroquine / Hydroxychloroquine is still effective. This is particularly so where the deadly Falciparum strain of the parasite is prevalent (as it is across the whole continent of Africa). It is not surprising, then, that by the mid-2000s (if not earlier), most African countries had abandoned the use of Chloroquine as either the primary treatment for, or preventative of, malaria.
- See the following extract from the American Journal of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene Trends in Antimalarial Drug Use in Africa (nih.gov)
It is therefore highly doubtful if the use of either Chloroquine or Hydroxychloroquine is still widespread in Africa - despite claims to the contrary by the Australian businessman Clive Palmer.
In fact, it is highly unlikely that either of those drugs have been in widespread use in Africa for almost 15 years now.
these 3 religions with all of their sects profess to worship the one true god with their different names for him ,different doctrines , different interpretations along with their different books concerning him .. the bible , christianity has over a billion and more believers ,.
the talmud , the jewish faith believers ?.
the koran , islam has over a billion and more believers .. and this has been going on for thousands of years yet god has remained silent and never tried to set matters straight or to sort out any truth as to any of their claims.. why do you think this is so ?.
Smiddy3,
Well put!
is bible prophecy now starting to come true regarding a prelude to the great tribulation?.
full disclosure: i still don't believe in the bible's claims about the existence of the supernatural, even of jehovah god (i'm an atheist and a scientific/philosophical naturalist), but i am asking this question because recent events are starting to seem (to me) to fit well the description of some prophecies in the bible.
consider the following.. several hours ago (on 11-26-2021) as i was about to enter a local fred meyer store of my city (in suburb or small city in the metro area of a large city) a person i know told me that a moment earlier a person left the store in a hurry with a cart load up with unpaid merchandise (i think i was told it was groceries but i don't remember that for sure).
If there ever was a period in history which matched the ride of the four horsemen in the Bible’s Book of Revelation, I would have thought it surely would have been the 14th Century.
That time saw climate change, famine, then a pandemic (the bubonic plague) which wiped out half the population of Europe - after firstly causing a disastrous loss of life across Asia.
