  When JW.org drops 607BCE...

  probably everyone else thought of this long ago, but i, being an "independent thunker" thunk of it just a coupla weeks ago.. we all know that since the year zero (on the fredfranzian calendar) the wtb&ts has defied archaeology and insisted that jerusalem was destroyed in 607 bce, even though the physical evidence shows that 587 bce is a more likely date.

  in fact, the book "the gentile times reconsidered: have jehovah's witnesses been wrong all along about 607 bce?

  " by carl olof jonsson and rud persson made this conversation public.. it is a difference of 20 years.

  I suppose it is possible - if their “scholarship” was all carried out at Tasmania’s University of Lower Crackpot!

  Otherwise, we are seeing here a lot of “That’s my story, and I am sticking to it” talk from one certain poster (who shall remain anonymous).

  burning heretics alive was a common practice in medieval europe.

  i cannot begin to imagine the depravity of the mind that invented this cruelty, let alone the inhumanity and callousness of those who carried out the act.

  sometimes an individual would take pity on the victim and hide gunpowder among the wood faggots to hasten their death.. there is only one way to make this scenario even more depraved, infinitely depraved in fact; and that would require magic powers.

  Of course, the irony of that comes out when you follow the history of many of the so-called “saints”.

  A lot of them did more than their share of sinning, somewhere along the line. (Something like sowing a few wild oats - then praying like hell afterwards for a crop failure!)

  Perhaps a little of- topic, but still worth a mention.

  In the words of the Canadian poet, Robert Service, in his poem The Song of the Wage Slave:

  ”When the long, long shift is over,

  And the Big Boss gives me my pay,

  I hope it is not to Hellfire, like I’ve heard the preacher say,

  And I hope it is not to Heaven, not with some of the preachers I’ve met.”

  Bloody Hell, but I can sure identify with that sentiment!

  the trinity doctrine says god is three persons in one being.. yet the bible says god is one.. gal 3.20 a mediator, however, implies more than one party; but god is one.

  the noachian flood actually happened a little less than 4,500 years ago after which eight adults stepped off the ark to repopulate the planet.. that means that approximately 60 million lives had been snuffed out, a holocaust by anyone's estimation.

  as if that isn't horrific enough just think about the babies, toddlers and young children god killed.. he drowned all of them, every single one.
