If "the Truth" is the truth, why are witnesses so scared of research?

it is an often asked question i know, but it perplexes me.. if witnesses are so convinced that they have "the truth", why is the act of researching information from external sources so taboo?

didn't the bible itself tell people to "use their powers of reason" and also praised ones like the boreans for researching things they were told??.

seriously, if there is no doubt about the organization being "god's channel" on earth, and it alone having the "truth", surely researching would only enhance such 'facts'?.

I'm sorry but I must side with Russia on this because they see the JW for what it is- a cult, not a normal religion and for that Russia is 100% right. This has nothing to do with free speech and everything to do with stopping cults not stopping religion or free speech because cults are damaging to families and communities!

Yes on the outiside the JW cult looks all nice and safe but in the inside is a power struggle of men who want to be recognized for their "position" in the congregation and will cover up for other elders they like.

I think this is good news for the USA but bad news for the JW cult of course they will attempt to spin this into a positive development.

Here is one reason why I think it is a good idea. The UN is maybe the most corrupt governing body on earth. It is a haven for political favors, get out of jail for free cards sold to the highest bidder and have not really been a body for peace. I know this personally because I have a family member who has worked at the UN for the South Korean international delegation.

I also think the USA wants to no longer be the world police and this is another good thing. The USA has been profiting from wars that it made for too long. The USA has become part of the military industrial complex war machine and this is only getting worse.

Thank you for this understanding but I do not believe that of all the religions that JW cult should benefit from this! They do nothing for chairty!
