Exjw activists protesting inside a Kingdom Hall today!

spoonfed nomore, has uploaded a video on his youtube site, of exjw activists protesting inside a kingdom hall during this sunday meeting.

several people speak out.

They might have meant well and I was watching it on Youtube, but I'm with dubstepped and Desirousofchange, this will just reinforce the crazy apostate image and will make JWs close ranks.

They will think it's all part of Satan's attack on them. It won't change anyone, it will do the opposite.

What might be effective is a Leah Remini show with heart breaking stories from exJWs. I cried through a lot of those episodes. That might move people if they watch it. Bursting into kingdom halls, no matter how good the intentions, will make matters worse.

But I do applaud Parker and gang for going up to Warwick. Parker said, he very respectfully went to the gate (coached by Spike R - who is a lovely ex-elder) and asked if the GB would see them. They weren't available so Parker explained why they were there.

I thought it was petty of the bethel to turn the sprinklers on when it was raining.

I was watched it all on live feed on Parker's Youtube channel and Spoonfednomore as well.

Rightly or wrongly these exJws have good intentions.

this is my story in a nut-shell.

i hope some of you can relate.

if you can..i would love to hear from you.. i have been crushed and heartbroken more times than i can recount by a religion that claims to be based totally on love and mercy and most of that harm has come from the so called "shepherds" who or are supposed to lovingly take the stray lambs in their arms and lead them gently back to safety.

Stagnation of JWs in Britain

There is no enthusiasm for preaching among the brothers in the UK. Maybe in the foreign field but not in general.

My husband asked a brother recently how the ministry was going and he replied: 'most people have made up their minds up now.'

And they don't take the ministry seriously anyway. Knock on two doors and off to the coffee shop (oh, but it's okay, the cafe owner knows they are JWs so it gives them a witness and anyway people see us walking down the street so that's a witness too, right?)

Without giving too much away, I live in a rural area. It's a well known fact Friday is Farmers market day. One Friday my husband saw a long line of farmers coming into town with their trailers full of livestock and in the other lane a long line of witnesses in cars going in the opposite direction out to the farms, where they KNOW no one will be in. If the work is so urgent, why do that?

Or the well know 'pioneer shuffle' which we've all done because let's face it, no one likes the ministry.

thank you wifibandit - what would we do without you? I always look forward to your posts.

I had an elder's visit last week and he said ' they were moving with the times' so I guess that's things like this then.

It's impressive and obviously costs a lot of money but I can't seen how it helps their dwindling growth areas who can barely afford to feed themselves let alone buy tablets. I think it's just as Room 215 says 'impressively produced pufffery' (love that phrase) and the R&F will indeed be impressed.

Asking for help with wife

hello everyone, my wife wants nothing to do with my awakening.

every time i try explaining something she tells me she doesn't want to hear it.

i believe she's afraid of learning something she's not ready for.

I was that woman. My husband woke up long before me and so did my nephew. They fed me little bits. I wasn't listening - at first. I defended. I warned my husband about 'apostate' websites. I even said if I can still stick to the truth despite all the problems, then I'm sticking with it.I told him he was dicing with the devil looking at John Cedars and JT (critical thinking) on Youtube.

But slowly it seeped into my mind. You have to do it for yourself. No one can wake you up. I could also see the total lack of love in the congregation for people not in cliques. The callous, unloving way elders handled matters.The child abuse problems.

Gradually it all started to come together. Like a misty window slowly being wiped clear. One night I took a peek at a JT video and learned some things that shocked me but started to make sense. But the waking up was horrendous. Your wife may be afraid of that. I was. The mental anguish was just awful.

Go slowly. Very slowly. Hopefully it will all come together in time.

Today's W.T when it mentioned Depression and Anxiety

our co-ordinator put his hand up and commented saying that people who go on about how depressed or anxious they are just need to stop giving in to impulses and show more self control without letting their emotions rule their lives.. if anyone from the media, a government agency or some other public body heard a comment like that, they'd have a hard time exercising self control over the rubbish this elder spouted, which my friends and family with genuine depression found insulting..

Unbelievable. What an idiot. Imagine anyone sitting in that hall that suffers from anxiety/depression. Well, let's hope he suffers from it one day! That makes me so angry.

he pulled no punches and his pen was as fast as his gun.

after all, it took almost three whole weeks for mickey to type his first novel.

I liked his style and as someone who secretly writes (I have a book on kindle under a pen name and I've been published in women's mags) I would use Mickey Spillane as 'well, there's a witness who writes, why can't I?' to which I was tersely told, he wrote when he WASN'T a witness.

It sickens me that at my age, I was so fearful of being found out by my elders I used a pen name! I didn't dare tell a soul. Sounds like Mickey didn't give a flying fig, well done him.

Why I lost my religion

i was a jw for over 50 years and recently just stopped cold turkey going to the meetings.

years of sitting at the meetings with the boredom, the gloom and doom, repetition of doctrine, the gloom and doom, the fake love, the gloom and doom, the end being so close, do more - do more, just got to be too much for me to stomach.

i stopped praying to god and no longer thank god for the food before i eat.

I listened to a Peter Gregerson talk - found the link on here - from years ago. At the end he said the Watchtower was guilty of causing thousands of lives to be lost because of the blood policy, ruining families and smashing peoples faith. That last bit resonated with me.

My husband wasn't a born in, he came into it when he was in his late 20s. He still has faith. He reads the bible and prays and says he feels closer to God.

I was born-in and left last May. I'm 64. I don't know who God is anymore. I have no idea. I can't pray. I don't read the bible. I don't know what to believe. The Watchtower has taken that away from me with their lies.

I know a lot of you don't believe in God. but I would like to. I would like to be comforted by prayer. I would like to have hope. I wish I'd been left alone to find God for myself instead of having it force fed to me and made to feel terrified of God.
