  Is it just me or are the street sign, road,car verification excessive?

  i must go through six of new verification screens on average before verifying.

  i seriously try harder and harder, i don't know if we include the tiny little piece of sign or not.

  i have done both,and still get another screen.

  I don't think it is anything that Simon is putting in place.

  I don't know about that, but I do know that I am getting pretty tired of MOST times having to click...click...click...click...click...click...click...click...click...click...click...click...click...click...click... before getting the green check mark.

  Even my secure banking site only requires a user name, and a password and click on login and you are in without the CAPCHA as long as you enter that site as an allowed site/safe site. And yes, I have added this site to my list of allowed sites so none of the cookies or other information is deleted when I log out.

  Should private citizens be allowed to video record law enforcement?

  i saw an article in the news yesterday that laws are going to be passed subjecting the police to being recorded by anyone while performing their duty or enforcing the law and encourages citizens to sue if they interfere.

  some law enforcement agents become angry and confiscate recording devices from people recording them while making an arrest, etc.. it does seem that the work that the police and other government agents do is public and not private or confidential so there should be nothing to hide from the cameras.

  on the other hand, how can one distinguish being shot by a camera or by a weapon until one is hit?.

  The congress can and should enact laws that mimic the so called net neutrality laws, but they damn well should do it and not have an unelected agency do it. Let the elected congress who represent the people vote on laws.

  Just dropped in on the JW Talk site for a bit again. I cannot believe the way they are going on about the net neutrality topic. They are tingling down their legs at this it seems.

  "Satan is preparing this world for his last attack. He knows his time is near. If this law will be approved and they will probably shut down the connection to jw.org in the future, then we still have our fall back locations. We know this will eventually happen. That is why we must read the bible day by day. We will need it very hard at the moment that Satan disconnects us completely from sources like the jw.org, bible etc."

  Perhaps my math is not correct, but do the figures represent a 7,198.8 hour commitment to get ONE person baptized?

  With a full time job, working no overtime, that would be a three and a half year effort per person. That sounds like a tremendous influx...NOT!

  Yeah it's really hard to tell the difference between true believers and apostates making fun on that site.

  I have an account, and post comments there. I love to spout nonsense as if I were the most "spiritual" person around. I answered all the questions correctly, engaged in some "spiritual warfare" when answering, gave a part of the country where I was visiting as my "residence", used a KH address I found online, and I was good to go. I have even received multiple "likes" on my comments from some of the goody two-shoes. I love tweaking them a little though when I get the chance.

  What's destroying Watchtower!

  for me, beyond any shadow of a doubt, it's the extreme shunning policy.. at a recent sunday meeting, i listened to a complete brainwashed sister saying how important it was that we stick to the shunning policy even if it is a close relative.. i just thought.

  wtf.

  there is a big difference between the brainwashed and the awoken class!.

  They think you need to be evil to get disfellowshiped when in reality you can get disfellowshiped quite easily for nothing serious at all.

  That is so true. My elderly father. before being booted of the BoE for staying home and taking care of my dying mother, said that a person can be DF'd for anything that three men can agree on if they want you gone bad enough.

  The total lack of Christian love, and the blatant nepotism that goes hand in glove with the rigid shunning is going to have a negative effect IMO.

  Another congregation bites the dust

  went to the meeting last night with my believing wife.

  the co was visiting and delivered a really cult-ish talk on loyalty but that's another story.. they made the announcement that starting january 1st they were going to have only 3 congregations in this town instead of 4.. they are dissolving one and growing the territories of the remaining 3. the reason given is that many of the elders are getting up there in age and can't do what they used to do.

  basically not enough elders and ministerial servants...or even men reaching out for that matter.
