  17 admittedly, there have been instances where an “unbelieving husband” seems to prove that he is not “agreeable to staying with her.” he might be extremely physically abusive, even to the point that she feels that her health or life is in danger.

  Looking back, it seems to me like the only thing that would get the WTS to adjust the rules about this kind of thing is somebody dying, and even then...

  This was my comment on another thread about this: Of course they trotted out the (in my words) "even in the case of extreme cruelty, and the possibility of damage to health or life you should remain with the abusive spouse" bulls--t. Who knows, the abused spouse just MIGHT convince the abuser to become a JDubya by letting him thump her around and walk on her like a doormat, and then he can hide it even better as a "christian" husband. And everyone KNOWS that if he ruins her health she will be magically healed in "paradise" and if he kills her she can be held up as a shining example of JDubya wifely submission, and be assured of being resurrected. That garbage really pisses FedUp off. Excuse me while I puke!

  PC re-writers of history will do their best to erase, or at the very least "debunk" the events on the deck of the Forestall when we "wet started" his fighter jet, the times his father bailed him out for actions that would have gotten any other Navy man drummed out of the military, and the propaganda videos he made for the North Vietnamese during a time of war, or the disgraceful way he treated his first wife after her horrible accident. Those things were fact then, now not so much thanks to those who need to "clean up" history for their own reasons.

  Just as I will NEVER have an iota of respect for Hanoi Jane, I will NEVER believe mccain to be anything other than a greedy, self-centered, narcissistic, petty, vindictive traitor to the country he was granted to live in.

  i’m sorry that i talk about dating a lot, i know it is probably very annoying, but you don’t have to read it.

  but did anyone else have the most difficult time dating as a young jw?

  me and my boyfriend have been dating for a year in half, we are in our early 20’s, and we are still not allowed to hold hands, cuddle or kiss.

  after 49 years as a jehovah's witness 3 of which in prison as a conscientious objector under very harsh conditions i have finally disassociated myself.

  for the past 2 years, i have been partaking from the emblems and that led to an intense persecution, harassment, online stalking and defamation of character.

  All invitations to private events are implied invitations and can be revoked for any reason.

  Except that conventions ARE NOT private events. They are open TO THE PUBLIC, as in the useless busy work of spending weeks ahead of time slipping thousands of invitations into the doors of THE PUBLIC. Nice try though.

  my mother in law told us this morning that they read a letter in her cong last night.

  from now on kh doors will be locked after 15 min of meeting start.

  only the fire exit (one way door) will remain unlocked.

  The governing body seem to be upping the paranoia levels of its victims.

  I believe that this is more true, than not. Remember the "Obey instructions even if they do not seem practical" B.S.? This is just grooming the sheep to get them ready for the slaughter. In packing plants the animals going to their deaths know what is about to happen so they are forced down the alley way with no way to turn back until the stun-bolt kills them.

  If you’re not there on time and they lock the doors, then you’re dead meat just like in the days of Noah.

  I got that line from an eldurr. Because of a still-in very elderly parent who want to be at the KH for meetings I take that parent to the meetings. Because of their situation we are always late. The elder said it is up to me to make my elderly parent go faster and be on time because, "When God shut the door of t he ark no one could get in, and HE will eventually shut the door of the KH right on time." Sorry bast--d!

  this is my 192nd post, so i thought it'd be fitting to ask a somewhat banal question which i've occasionally pondered over the years.

  does anyone know what's behind the wt's penchant for 192-page books?

  is there some kind of logistical reason for this?

  Years ago I heard it had to do with the way they were printed and bound also. In multiples of 32 (the mags) It was a bundle of six 32 page bundles. So as DOYKL mentioned it had to do with the way they were bound.
