I have never been scammed, although I am still waiting for that $10,000,000 US payout that I was promised if only I gave my Social security number, address, date of birth, bank routing and account number to that nice prince from Nigeria so he could deposit it directly into my account, which for some reason now is overdrawn.

Have You Ever Been Scammed?
by minimus inof course we all were scammed while we were jehovah’s witnesses.
i’m thinking of ways besides religion.. a popular scam is to get a call from your electric company saying they overbilled you and needed to verify your name, address and social security number.
then they will send you your money back.

Former elders did you ever ?
by Fadeaway1962 inhi did any former elders ever suggest that bro & sis should go to the police?.
there was a group of sis with various health conditions and on medications had a gathering and drank a lot wine , one of the sister physically assaulted another sis , myself and a another elder were assigned to deal with it after hearing what happened i said to the sis she could contact the police the other elder a lot older gave me a dirty look , the sis said i trust you bro to deal with it .. i think that's why witnesses don't get the police involved because we have been convinced that we can trust the elders and the organisation , and to trust and have faith that god knows all the facts and can read hearts and will deal with it in his time scale and encouraged to leave it with him and not to bring reproach on his name..

Police are good
I would respectfully disagree. Police are necessary, but it has been decades since they could be called "good", at least in my recent dealings with them as a victim of burglaries, vandalism, and threatened violence.

Before cutting my hair my witness barber had to check with Bethel...really? Not a cult?
by Witness 007 ini was balding and grey so i asked my witness barber friend to "just shave it all off" many brothers were doing the comb over which looked friggin stupid.
but oh no in the 1990's this was rebellious he had to call a brother we knew at bethel to see if it was ok. we got his ok to go ahead but at the time i could help thinking about the no beard rule and how controlled and cultish we were..

many JWs are simply incapable of making choices or decisions on their own , even on a quite simple level.
Back when I was still in the beginning stages of the fade, while out in serve us one Saturday morning I stopped at every stop sign and bowed my head for a moment before proceeding through the intersection. When the car load of other fellows riding along finally got exasperated enough with my foolish driving they asked what I was doing. I laughed and told them I was just following "mothers" advice.
*** w11 11/15 p. 8 pars. 12-13 “Do Not Lean Upon Your Own Understanding” *** What should we do when confronted with situations that may seem easier to resolve—perhaps because past experience allows us to think of a solution quickly? David went to Jehovah in prayer. When faced with a familiar situation or problem, we must exercise caution that we do not rely solely on past experience.
I said I was not relying on past driving experience but "Praying" for help to decide how to proceed through the intersection as the WT said we must. I don't think they get the point of how stupid some of them allow themselves to become when it comes to decision making.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA----------------------GASP----------------------HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Sorry, I have heard that garbage too many times in the last five decades about every single last "special" meeting, and they are nothing but a boring snooze fest about ten toes, or some other minutiae.

From the article linked to: "He was under active police surveillance at the time of the attack..."
@ Simon said, "There's going to come a time when people get tired of governments doing nothing to protect them and actively putting them at risk. There's going to come a time when people will protect themselves, proactively."
That is why where I live in the U.S. I legally carry concealed, and have for over forty years. I know there are always going to be those who will believe I am wrong and seek to disarm me and other law-abiding citizens who prefer not becoming helpless victims, but I would much rather carry a means of protection and never need it than to never carry and find myself or others in a situation where it was needed.

''well what about the other person's feelings?''
Well what about them? After all they are going to die at Armageddon anyway.
That /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ is what any "good" Jdub would at the very least think, if not say out loud. God, I hate their hypocrisy!

Court overturns $35 million sex abuse verdict against Jehovah's Witnesses
by iwantoutnow inshocking!.
the montana supreme court has unanimously overturned the largest civil verdict against the jehovah's witnesses in u.s. history in a closely-watched case on the requirements of religious leaders to report suspected incidents of child sexual abuse.. the ruling, issued wednesday, erased a $35 million jury verdict to alexis “lexi” nunez, who was abused by a member of the thompson falls, mont, congregation.
elders at the local kingdom hall knew of separate allegations against the man, but did not report those to law enforcement after relying on legal advice from headquarters that clergy in montana are not required to report allegations deemed by religious organizations to be “confidential.”.

i wonder if the watchtower cult will publicise this?
Only if there is some way that they can spin it as, "Jehovah blessed us so much in using his holy spirit to influence this decision. No weapon formed against us has any effect. Now YOU can show him how much YOU appreciate his help by SENDING US YOUR MONEY!"

If you speak against the Governing Body you will be punished.
by punkofnice inthis was a comment from the meeting(tm) on sunday.. the person that told me about it, is very confused about the validity of the corporation.
somewhere between a pimo and a pimi-lite.
the thing that angered me was that this person has cancer.

Speaking against the GB is worse than speaking against God.
That's because one is only God, and the other calls themselves G.O.D.

'Do you accept the governing body are the faithful and discreet slave that Jesus spoke about, and do you believe God is using them as his channel to dispense spiritual food'
I've been asked that a number of times recently, though not in any "formal" meeting. I suffer from (selective) hard hearing, so I cannot answer a question that I do not "hear".
