. . .the elders are teachers
In my somewhat recent experience before becoming totally FedUp I found that the so-called elders were perfect examples of the saying, "Them as can, DO! Them as can't, TEACH!"
back in the day when i was a young witness lad, you very much got the impression that at least the training as theocratic teachers was good.. even the bible reading back then had a short introduction and conclusion.
you had to research and prepare your own ministry school talks and then perhaps you would graduate to a half of a 55 minute public talk.
then later if you were a book study conductor, you got to decide which scriptures to read and highlight.

it's difficult to comprehend how arrogant the members of the governing body must be to sanction much of the content that appears in their literature.
they identify themselves as the 'faithful and discreet slave' - that alone requires an astonishing degree of pride.
but what is even more amazing - arguably to the level of insanity - is the way they then use that phrase to elevate themselves above the rest of the organisation.
The use of the third person / first person pronouns in the literature disguises the grandiose nature of the hubris of the top leadership. Unfortunately, JWs can't see that.
There were quite a few who took vocal exception to my use of "governing body" and said I shouldn't use "governing body" in place of "the slave". My answer was to refer them to *** w13 7/15 pp. 21-22 “Who Really Is the Faithful and Discreet Slave?” *** 10 Who, then, is the faithful and discreet slave? In recent decades, that slave has been closely identified with the Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
They just couldn't abide replacing "the slave" with "governing body" as it placed to much emphasis on elevating eight specific men above the rest of the organization.
dedicate your life to jehovah, by being baptized as a jw - not as a christian.
(a follower of christ - acts 11:26).
par.
With the same mouth they condamn people not waiting to marry, the SECOND most important decision one can make, until they are past some so-called "bloom of youth" WT praises pre-pubescent youths for making a life long decision to get baptized, the MOST important decision they can make, along with all the horrors that go along with it.
Sounds pretty hypocritical to me.
breaking news from jw.org..... "we are pleased to inform you that two additional brothers have been appointed to serve as members of the governing body of jehovah’s witnesses: brothers gage fleegle and jeffrey winder.
both brothers are anointed christians who have a long history of loyal service to jehovah.
brother fleegle began his full-time service in 1989 and bethel service in 1991. brother fleegle has served as a helper to the service committee of the governing body.
Those two look like the kinds of "men" I would just love to try and break my fist against their noses.
First impressions, y'know?
the jws are fond of quoting john 13:35 that love is the identifying mark of the true religion claiming that only they have this love among themselves.
they love each other.. i was reading the gospel of luke today and thought about the words of jesus luke 6:32-35 niv, “if you love those who love you, what credit is that to you?
even sinners love those who love them.
Service is things like - feeding the hungry, helping the homeless with warm clothes and hot food, helping people who have to choose whether they can afford to heat their homes, telling people about the gospel of Jesus, etc.
You make a valid point, it is sad though that the JW governing body refuse to recognize that fact. Service according to the gospel of ToMo III and his cohorts means that the lowly Ama-Ahret R&F JW serves the needs, whatever they are and regardless of the cost, of the governing body. And anyone other than them can be gone and be damned.
everytime a publisher moves congregations they have a confidential letter of introduction sent from one body of elders to the other .
this letter contains some very very sensitive information like if they had sexual problems or mental health problems or if they self harmed etc.
most people don’t know but they can request or insist on seeing this information through a freedom of information request .
@hoser
Loved the "scriptures" you included. I see what you did there.
2022 grand totals.
branches of jehovah’s witnesses: 86. .
number of lands reporting: 239. .
Wow! Amazing! 10,318 hrs per each new baptized JW. The equivalent of five years full time employment per each baptism. Pretty sad in my opinion, considering most of those are no doubt "yung wahns" who have been coerced into baptism by their parents.
.
not sure if this is fake news or not..
From jw talk came this comment: "So like C----- mentioned, in recent years Serena does not appear to have been living a life as 1 of Jehovah’s people. But in fairness, she was never baptized. So we can view her in a positive way"
Yeah, see how that would work out if she were not wealthy, likely donating a large amount of $$$$$ to WT, or some poor, younger twenty something girl who was not a celebrity. The hypocrisy of the word fairness, and the way they are drooling on their shoes over her "baptism" is nauseating.
regular pioneers: 600 per year, 50 on average per month.auxiliary pioneers: 30 hours per monthauxiliary pioneers in march and april: fee reduced to 15 hours.
Because all that counts is that you signed up and your name was announced. It was and is all for show.
And THAT is it in a nut-shell.
With that lower hour requirement,,,they will make it sound like there will no longer be an excuse ''not to pioneer''.
And they will forget about the principle in Mark 12: 41-43 in their rush to condamn anyone who does not pious-sneer!
2023 will see a big push to get rank and file back to in person meetings and ministry.
they have opened a can of worms with zoom but what they really want is only in extreme illnesses cases can someone use zoom .
the only problem is they want everyone fully vaccinated which means if you didn’t go for your latest booster in the last several months then you are no longer fully vaccinated and just the same as someone who never accepted any shots right from the start.
I posted a comment on another thread about this very quote. " Therefore, it can er. . ." They used a qualifying term. "Can", which should not be confused with "Does." If you were to ask anyone of those obese buffoons if they DO err, they would deny, deflect, and likely DF you. The way they word things should always be looked at as if you were studying a professional illusionist. Don't watch what they are doing with their right hand, it's the left hand that you need to watch to see how the trick is done. Just my meager two cents worth.
