it was an opinion of someone that to be a divorced, single sister i. the organization was the lowest social standing you can have.

why are they dispised?

I have to wonder what was so wrong in the marriage that she had to go somewhere else.

I have to wonder what was so wrong in the marriage that HE had to go somewhere else? That works BOTH ways. I personally knew a couple in my younger JW days where the oh so spiritual wife would use the silent treatment and ask the witness husband how long he could go without in each and every case where he wished to do something or go somewhere she did not approve of (camping, hunting, fishing etc).

And lumping men into the "they marry only for sex" pigeon hole is IMO an incorrect female excuse for their actions. Men desire closeness and emotional support from their partner pretty much at the same level as a woman.

putting this under "friends" because i couldn't figure out where to put it.

it is very often on here and in ex jw videos, ect that people like to undermine some of those who once we would have called friends.

there seems to be a view that window washers, plumbers, cleaners, construction workers are somehow less intelligent than those who may be college educated.

Does having a good job and letters after your name make you superior?

Reminds me of the story about two guys walking through a downtown business district. They stopped in front of a business with a man's name on the door followed by the letters of his college degrees. B.S. M.S. and Ph.D.

First man asks, "I wonder what all those letters mean?"

Second man replies, "Well, we all know what B.S. is. M.S. means More of the Same, and Ph.D means piled high and deeper!"

i'm a single sister ( in usa) that has been baptized for 20 years.

i came from the world, so did not grow up in the truth and i have no family in the truth -- i am alone.. last year i met a brother & we did have premarital sex while we were dating.

It was then that my ex told the elders of our premaital relationship.

Not having read comments yet I will put in my "two cents" worth. Elders, like police, are NOT your friends when it comes to confessing sins. It is too late now for you buy the wisest course is to keep silent. The best you could have done was to tell the elders that HE was only accusing you as a means of retaliation, then quit talking. You would not have been lying. That is the only real reason he said anything about it. He was only interested in taking you down with him. They would have had no second witness. It was your confession that counted as the second witness to his accusation.

Now though you have the chance to get away from those oh so loving wolves. RUN!

I know the feeling well. My old classic 426 Street Hemi 1960's Charger and my newer Ford diesel pickup. Of course when they needed something hauled they always called on me because, "we don't have away to haul it, and you have a pickup."

I learned fast how to say NO, and if they persisted to ask them what part of NO didn't they understand? The "N" or the "O".

Right before I completely turned my back on them I would always hand them a Bible when they complained about me and tell them to "Show me!" They never could for some reason. We all know why. They base their decisions on personal opinion, never on the Bible.

my understanding was that this was the magazine regularly published for insiders only, unlike the watchtower and the awake!

looking online, it seems that the wt ceased publication of this in 2016. is it due to a name change (it seems to have changed its name several times over the years) or has it been succeeded by a new publication?

his was a big announcement to all congregations in this week’s midweek meeting

I ZOOMED in to the end of the meeting just to see if it was announced. It was. The elder who announced it concluded with the comment to, "make sure to get the updated publication in order to keep up with the 'chariot' ".
