fast forward to 2018 and we have a world renown tennis player and jw as far as we’re told.. so where some are encouraged to leave the world and it’s futile pursuits of fame and fortune, others are not.

or even punished for their behaviour on court or for been photographed with their country’s flag where others have been executed for refusing to salute flags.

JWs respect the flag more than others by following what it stands for, freedom.

And where pray tell does flipping the middle finger at the flag fall in the realm of showing more respect than others. I said nothing about FORCING a salute. But willful disrespect is another ballgame, and you know it!

I had to put up with the bullshit that resulted from a "good" JDub elder who did just that...flipped the bird at the U.S. flag, and made his children do so also as the colors passed in front of us during a community parade! BIG difference between that and showing simple respect, standing silently.

What was the EXACT exJW website you first visited and why EXACTLY did you visit it?

i had two episodes of visiting exjw websites:one time around 2007 when i just googled "jehovah´s witnesses" and dared to look at those sites.

i was scared and i promised myself i would never come back to them.

however, that one didn´t really count.the moment that woke me up was this:i got to know that whitney heichel was a jw and murdered by another jw, because i overheard that conversation in a kingdom hall.i looked up the news and in one of the news comments, there was one where an exjw was complaining that they were hijacking her funeral and they were really trying to downplay the fact that her murderer was a jw... and then it said "visit jwfacts.com"... which i did.and the rest... is history.what exactly got you onto an apostate website when you woke up?

July 01, 2012 a Sunday afternoon. I was one angry JW. After forty years of being baptized, a fourth (four overlapping) generation JW who was running the hamster wheel of JW-dom trying to live up to the demands to be an "exemplary" JW, doing all the things that a MS would normally do without EVER getting a bit of recognition or encouragement, watching man after man get appointed in spite of their drunkenness - adultery - theft - embezzlement - lying - tax evasion - insurance fraud and being told "just wait on Jehovah" because those men gave BIG $$$$ to the congregation.

I was scheduled to read the prior Sunday and the WT conductor trotted his son up because he didn't see me during the song. Then on July 01, 2012 the WT study was titled "Do You Really Appreciate God’s Gift of Marriage?" The WT conductor blindsided me three minutes before the meeting and told me he wanted me to decline to read as many years before (nearly twenty) I had committed the one infraction of JW law. I had married "out of da troof" and then two years later divorced by the woman who remarried, and someone "might be stumbled" by hearing me read about marry only in the lord." I refused to step down and he again had his son come up to read. He said it was direction from "holy spirit" after he had prayed about it.

I started that afternoon researching the operation (or lack thereof) of holy spirit and found this site, and after lurking for some while joined up and the rest is history as they say.

Like a man who has scales fall from their eyes I have seen more and more clearly the lack of holy spirit, the nepotism, the greed of the org.

i have just watched the glass smashing on the wt video on education.. please consider these experiences from the opposite side of that "coin".. i have heard young ones say out-loud on the mike in the kh that "jehovah is my special friend.."these ones who were at the top of the wt 'tree' pioneering, putting in the hours etc but, it followed that soon saying that pivotal statement they dropped their pioneering, faded, picked up the girl/boyfriend and suffered being dfd.. so where did their wt "education" leave them?

it left them as young adults naive to the world, unskilled, with no qualification to offer any employer and having to replace their former family/associates/friends with new ones.. ( dont get me going on shunning) in some cases with little success as we have read here where they moon about for months or longer unable to emotionally heal after the leaving or df'ing and also others with such a turn around they would never have believed it possible... there was a wt that related how a brother (!

) followed an interest in history and left the truth.

town of newburgh — the watchtower bible and tract society of new york is challenging nearly $200,000 in fire and other special district taxes assessed for three town of newburgh properties, including two hotels the organization bought to house volunteers helping build its world headquarters in warwick.. in a petition filed in orange county court last month, the umbrella organization for jehovah’s witnesses claimed that the town “either unintentionally as a mistake or intentionally and without lawful authority” miscoded the former hilton on crossroads court and the former hampton inn on route 300 for 2016, 2017 and this year.. with a combined market value of nearly $23 million, the hotel properties were not assessed town, county and school taxes for those years.

but the town assessed $196,000 charges for the orange lake fire district and lighting and water districts during those years.. newburgh also assessed $1,600 in special district taxes over three years for a vacant commercial property watchtower owns at route 17k and route 300.. “petitioner would not be required to pay the resulting unjust charges if its exemption from taxes had been justly, correctly, and lawfully granted and administered,” watchtower’s attorneys wrote in the organization’s petition in county court.. watchtower bought the two hotel properties in 2014 as it built its 1.6 million-square-foot headquarters on kings drive in warwick.
