A JW where I live that is always trying to get me back to where I used to be in JWland said that he was told, "the 'great tribulation' has now started, and we should be hiding Bibles and literature in safe spaces' " so we can access it when the government comes after us.

And now what with the "lock the doors ANY time there is someone in the KH" crap where you have to be known to the "special" door watcher to be allowed in it doesn't even say, "Welcome."
in the real world, very few parents would disown their own children simply because they read a magazine that told them to do it.
very few people would forever completely ignore their own parents because an elder got up on a platform one day and announced that they no longer follow the same religion as you.. in the real world it just doesn't happen.
and yet, for 8 million jehovah's witnesses it's very a normal part of their world to treat "other people" differently than they'd treat each other.

Agreed. One of my in-laws who is DF'd was the ONLY person who helped me care for my dying father until he passed away a few weeks ago. Now the congregation he was ignored by is shunning the rest of the family for having let her help care for my dying father. The fact their refusal to offer any help was one of the reasons we gladly accepted her help is lost on those idiots! After my father died one of the elders stopped by to offer his "condolences" and I was proud to tell him, "You screwed him over when he was alive, you screwed us over when he was dying, and now SCREW YOU! I want to see nothing of you except your back as you get the f--k out of here!"
The last living reason for me to have been inside a KH is gone. And so am I!

i spent a considerable length of time living and working in america (would love to imigrate one day).. almost everyone i worked with and made friends with carried a concealed firearm of somesort.
i found this pretty interesting and as an avid firearm fan even more so.. so to our american members here... .
as a jw did you or did you know any practising dubs who carried or if not had firearms for home defence?
The whole purpose of concealed carry goes out the window when one starts telling others they do so. Suffice it to say though that I am legal in all my firearms actions.

when i was a full-on believing jw i had an obsessive fascination with mormonism.
i read, studied and watched their propaganda with strange interest as well as their apostate mormon books.
