  5 congregation meetings, meetings for field service, elders meetings, judicial meetings, meetings to figure out who was qualified to clean the toilets....🤔.

  Oh, but it is. Otherwise how will a person know how to prattle on for two or three minutes answering a question that has a simple "yes" or "no" answer as they try to impress everyone with how knowledgeable they are?

  Manipulative language

  someone recently included the phrase from a talk, “cherished errors”, which made me think about something i wanted to get off my chest.

  the societies use of manipulative language has been discussed on this site many time and i hope this adds to the ammunition to fight back against them.

  periodically , i’ll run into someone and they’ll say “hendrixgrip, why don’t you come to the meetings anymore.” i’ll give them some not too specific reason like, “i’m struggling with the overlapping doctrine”.

  As you can see, Revelation 11:15 is cited in both and in the 02 WT it says it was fulfilled in 1914 but in the 51 WT it says it was fulfilled in 1918. Which of the two am I to believe?

  Should calling someone 'Nazi' be made illegal?

  a rabble-rouser called james goddard and a crowd of pro-brexit people called anna soubry 'nazi' recently.. the same crowd also called owen jones a few names.. i don't know these people but they seem to be unsavory people - they were certainly not behaving themselves.. the met police are looking into the matter, to see if the crowd did anything illegal.

  a journalist asked the police officer if calling someone 'nazi' is illegal.

  the officer said 'that's what we're looking into'.. first, this crowd behaved badly, no question.. what i find fascinating, though, is the speed of response from authorities.. calling people fascist or nazi has been going on for decades.

  if you were ever brought before a judicial committee, and were about to be interrogated by the elders, just remember...you owe them nothing.

  they are mere men and no better than you!

  even if it wasn’t a judicial interrogation , you should never feel obligated to them.

  My personal experience in the past was that confessing got one DF'd for the "sin", while refusing to confess got one DF'd for not "repenting". Damned if you do, damned if you don't!

  If My Dad Were To See The Watchtower Org Now

  as we all know, this org has metamorphosized from one ugly creature to another continuously since it's inception.

  but more so it seems in the last 30 years.. i got to thinking what my dad would think if he were to be brought to life for 5 mins to see the way things are now.

  how would he even react?.

  Before she died two years ago my mother said if JW's in the forties had been what they were now (2016-2017) she would NEVER have become one. My father who only recently passed, after an entire adult life spent in positions from old time congregation servant up to the upper echelons of district oversight, said shortly before he died, "I have quit giving any money to the WT. They do not practice what they preach anymore. The new breed are hypocrites with their electronic gadgets, TVs in the kingdom hall and always begging for money!"

  Brother to elder: have you ever read the old Testament?

  BITD when I still went door knocking I mentioned to the group that I was reading a real good book. I said it was a "bit" violent, but if you just skimmed over the be-headings, stabbings, disembowelment, rapes, incest, homosexual sex, infanticide by live burning, adultery and murder then the rest wasn't too bad. The counsel started immediately. The elder and MS in the group were apoplectic about the un-scriptural literature I was reading. After several minutes of counsel they asked if I had anything to say? I said I would quit reading the Bible at their suggestion!
